“When Donald Trump stood on that field in Pennsylvania, all of America stood with him.”

He added: “My message to you, my fellow Republicans, is that we love this country and we are united to win.”

Vance was Presented by his wife – Usha Vance, who described her husband as “a meat-and-potatoes guy” who liked to play with puppies and watch the movie Babe.

Vance, a relative newcomer, initially made a name for himself. with his best-selling book of 2016, Peasant Elegyan autobiography of his childhood in a poor, white Appalachian community. Though once an outspoken critic of Trump (he is said to have once referred to him as “America’s Hitler”), Vance has warmed to the former president and adopted many of his policies.

At 39, Vance is one of the Republican Party’s new rising stars, and also one of the fastest risers in recent political history.

The first-term senator is just a year and a half into his six-year Senate term, the first elected office Vance has held. He rallied to a commanding victory in the 2022 Ohio Senate Republican primary, then scored a narrower win over Democratic opponent Tim Ryan in that November’s election.

Since then, he has gained a reputation as an economic populist who has at times bordered on the conservatism of his party’s old guard.

His unique brand of Republicanism was particularly on display when he visited a United Autoworkers picket line in 2023, something seen as sacrilege among economic conservatives who take a hostile stance toward unions and organized labor.

That appearance was mocked at the time by Rep. Marcy Kaptur, a Democrat from his home state, who told Vance, “First time?” when he reached the picket line.

Her victories in the Ohio Senate primary and general election came largely thanks to an endorsement from Donald Trump in April 2022.

Vance won the former president’s endorsement over one of his Republican rivals, Josh Mandel, who unlike Vance was already serving in government as Ohio’s treasurer.

Another factor responsible for its abrupt Trump’s rise to global politics The most prominent candidate was Donald Trump Jr., who, along with Vance’s wife, introduced the senator to the convention on Wednesday. Trump Jr. became a close public ally of Vance around the same time he gained the endorsement of Jr.’s father, and that alliance is also thought to have helped Vance edge out conservatives with longer resumes, such as Sen. Marco Rubio and North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum.

Experts have said Vance will undoubtedly help advance Trump’s far-right agenda if the two manage to win the White House in November.
