Joe Biden’s future remains in the balance after his debate performance sparked a chorus of calls from Democrats demanding he drop out of the race for re-election.

The president had a post-debate interview with ABC News on Friday that was intended to calm concerns, but only raised more concerns within the party just weeks before the Democratic National Convention.

Biden heads to the key state of Pennsylvania on Sunday to try to win back public sentiment.

And Vice President Kamala Harris is headed to Las Vegas, Nevada, this week as her name is being floated among those who could replace Biden on the presidential ticket in November.

An anonymous memo written by senior Democratic officials argues that Vice President Kamala Harris is the “only realistic path” out of the “mess” created by President Joe Biden’s debate performance.

Biden insists he will not step aside despite calls for him to withdraw after failing in his debate against Donald Trump last month.

Harris, 59, is one of a handful of names Democrats are considering, but she has not beaten Trump in most polls and does not lead in surveys among those who want to see Biden replaced by another candidate.

The vice president heads to Las Vegas, Nevada on Tuesday for a solo campaign stop.

Campaign donors believe Joe Biden is in “denial” about the need to drop out of the presidential election for Democrats to succeed in 2024.

The president insists he is still in the race as donors grow increasingly concerned about his mental acuity and fitness for office following his disastrous debate performance against Donald Trump.

There is growing sentiment among insiders and the public that it is time for Biden to end his re-election bid.

One donor estimates, according to The Washington Post:

For every 10 people who think he should go, one thinks he should stay.

President Joe Biden’s team provided a radio host with questions to ask in his first post-debate interview.

In the disastrous interview, the 81-year-old appeared to be in further cognitive decline by calling himself a black woman, and it has now been revealed that the interview was staged.

Philadelphia radio station WURD was asked eight questions for the president.

Journalist Andrea Lawful-Sanders says she ended up asking four, and Biden still managed to make a mess of his answers.

The president sparked a flurry of headlines after saying she was a “black woman,” apparently while trying to praise his appointment of Kamala Harris as vice president.

Though his gaffe has been defended as a slip of the tongue, critics, including many within his own party, say Biden needs to brush it up after his disastrous debate performance.
