Wales midfielder Joe Allen insists Rob Page’s Euro 2020 squad has MORE flair than the squad that reached the semi-finals in France five years ago
Joe Allen believes the Wales side have more flair for this European Championship than the group that completed a glorious run to the semi-finals five years ago.
Chris Coleman’s side in France effectively chose for themselves, bringing in a mix of defensive rigor and counter-attack verve that devastated Belgium in the quarter-finals.
But manager Rob Page has a plethora of young flair players, including Harry Wilson, Daniel James and Neco Williams, as well as several potential formations.
Joe Allen thinks this Welsh side has more flair in their ranks than they did at Euro 2016
“I think it has (more flair) to it,” Allen said. “Technically, there’s a little more flair, a little more creativity and a little more attacking dimensions throughout the squad.
“We have players with speed, we have players who can find a pass and create things out of thin air.
“As older players in the group, we don’t want to dwell on past years for too long. We’ve been doing that for the past five years, believe me. We’ve talked about it enough.’
