The Agency is based on the acclaimed French show The Bureau.
The show was produced by George Clooney and his partner Grant Heslov through their company Smokehouse Pictures.
The political thriller will follow Fassbender’s Martian, an undercover CIA agent who is ordered to abandon his undercover life and report to Gere’s Bosko in London.
The official synopsis reads: “When the love he left behind reappears, the romance is rekindled.”

Speaking about his time on the project, Michael told Entertainment Weekly: “I’ve never done a TV series as a lead, so I have a lot of respect for him.”
“It’s a packed schedule, you have to move quickly, you have to get things done, but I’m really enjoying it.”
This marks Richard’s second regular television role following the BBC miniseries MotherFatherSon, which he previously suggested would be his last small screen role.

‘When I was a kid, you didn’t want to do television, it was something you didn’t do.
“It just wasn’t the highest quality, but now we’re seeing things on television that are as good or better than almost everything we see on (movie) screens,” he said.
“Now it’s hard to even call it television. It’s a different animal. I have to tell you, I probably shouldn’t say this, but I was surprised by how much money is involved in this… Very large budgets for storytelling.’
The Agency is available to stream on Paramount Plus from November 30 for UK viewers.
