Labor has urged Tata to wait until after the July 4 general election to hold talks with the steel giant if he wins.

But yesterday Tata said it was imperative that whoever wins stick to the plan he had already agreed with the Government.

The Indian-owned company will close two blast furnaces at a steelworks in south Wales this autumn.
