A man who wanted to work at TJ Maxx revealed his complete surprise when he learned the salary for the position he applied for.
The man, who interviewed for the position at what is believed to be a store in Pennsylvania on April 11, couldn’t believe the position came with a salary of just $12 an hour, which was paid weekly.
“Everything went well, but in the end he told me that they pay $12 an hour and that they get paid every week,” he said in a TikTok under the username “@sobeatmyass.”
“Then I thought, ‘Yeah… I’m not taking that damn job.’
The TikToker known as @sobeatmya** has slowly gone viral after he questioned his job interview with TJ Maxx in a video he posted on April 11.
There are currently more than 1,000 TJ Maxx stores in the United States and Canada. As of this year, states like Nevada and Nebraska currently have a $12 minimum wage.

‘Do you already have a job? If not, take the job until you find something else. Some money is better than no job,” commented one TikToker.
Others have commented that hourly pay is good, but one user suggested that @sobeatmya** accept hourly pay.
“They’re about to make you put together all the furniture,” the TikToker concluded with a laughing emoji.

Social media users have been giving TikTok advice on what to do and some people have criticized it hoping for a better hourly wage.
They added: “But really, if you don’t have another job, take the $12 and keep looking until you find a better one.”
The confused TikToker has since asked the video’s viewers what they think he should do since he has no idea how to handle the situation.
So far, it appears he hasn’t responded to any of the comments other TikTok users made on the video.
