Jimmy Fallon recalled beating Tiger Woods “in a golf match” and how the PGA Tour legend didn’t take the loss lightly.
While Woods’ legendary career will be remembered for his 15 major victories, he may have a thorn in his side in the form of a loss to The Tonight Show host, even though it is not on his record.
Speaking to NBC Golf on Wednesday, Fallon recounted how exciting it was to beat Woods in Wii Golf.
“I beat Tiger Woods in a round of golf,” Fallon said. “It was a Nintendo Wii round of golf, but it still counts, the word ‘golf’ is in the same sentence. He got mad at me, I remember that.
“Athletes take any sport, any game very seriously. I remember playing with Tiger Woods and beating him at his own game: Tiger Woods (PGA Tour), Wii Golf.”

Fallon went on to detail how Woods reacted when he gave him advice on how to succeed in the sport’s unrealistic virtual simulation.
‘I remember saying, ‘Tiger, if you press down and shake the controller, it gives you recoil.’
“And he said, ‘Don’t tell me how to play my game,'” Fallon added while looking angrily at the camera.
Fallon appeared on the show to promote his 4-hole match against DJ Khaled that will air on NBC on Friday the 13th, titled ‘Cardigan Classic’.
After defeating the golf legend, Fallon exudes confidence that he will emerge victorious when he and the music icon take to the golf course at Lake Tahoe.

“It’s a very intense golf match. Possibly the most intense sporting competition ever broadcast on television,” Fallon joked on his show. “Four holes, two players, one winner. And that winner takes home the official red jersey of the championship.”
“And guess what, Khaled? They’re so confident I’m going to win that they told me they only made the jersey in my size. That’s right, juniors’ plus size.”
