Jimmy Fallon has revealed just how bitter his feud with Mark Consuelos became as the pair both battled to top the People’s Sexiest Talk Show Host readers’ choice poll.
After weeks of voting, it was finally announced on October 30 that Consuelos defeated 50-year-old Fallon to become number one for the second year in a row.
He also beat off competition from former Saved by the Bell actor Mario Lopez, 51, and comedian Seth Meyers, 50.
While the pair may have now buried the hatchet, things got heated between them behind the scenes, with Fallon even begging talk show host Consuelos, 53, to drop out of the race altogether.
Addressing the drama on Live with Kelly and Mark on Friday, he said: “The people’s sexiest talk show host and everyone voted, and Mark Consuelos mopped the floor with me.
‘And he won. And you really did it and you deserve it.”

Consuelos’ wife Kelly Ripa added, “It got ugly, it got dirty.”
“It got a little dirty because there were some attack ads that I aired,” Fallon agreed.
‘I tried! I tried to drop out, but the people at People said, ‘You can’t drop out,'” Consuelos said.
“I asked them afterwards if it was close, and they said it was very close,” he added. “You won the Electoral College.”
But Fallon was still miffed.
“I asked you to stop!” he said. ‘Respectfully get out of the race! I have to go through town.
“I see you all over town with no clothes on!”
Fallon then groaned, “Man, I tried really hard. You are the best, you are a good sport.’
In September, Fallon said of Consuelos: “He doesn’t need this, he’s sexy every day. I’m not even on these lists at all.’

Despite not winning, Fallon accepted his loss and presented Consuelos with a huge bouquet of flowers.
Last month, Fallon was criticized by viewers for an apparent blunder with his microphone and his decision to wear sunglasses in the rain during the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade.
At this year’s annual event, he performed a rendition of Hey Rudy atop a giant steam train with his old backing band, The Roots.
However, insiders claimed that his performance was far from a disaster and that he simply went ‘overboard’ with his lip-syncing to entertain the audience.
“Jimmy is not ashamed of people cheering on his appearance and performance at the Macy’s parade,” an insider told DailyMail.com exclusively. “The only person people seem to be talking about during the parade is him.
“For Jimmy, he hopes the interest will translate into more album sales this holiday season.”
