Jetstar nightmare: Passenger opens emergency exit and slides off plane at Melbourne airport

A passenger reportedly opened the emergency exit on a Jetstar plane and slid down the emergency slide after landing at Melbourne Airport.

Jetstar flight JQ507 from Sydney had just landed in Melbourne when a man in his thirties opened the emergency exit door and “jumped out” after the emergency slide was deployed.

He slid onto the right engine and was then restrained by ground crew.

“Flight attendants told the man to sit down but he just walked around without listening to the crew. Passengers then shouted for him to ‘please sit down’ but he didn’t, instead pulling the escape door and sliding down the slide,” Sky News presenter Kieran Gilbert reported.
