The New York Jets hand Matt Araiza an NFL lifeline and will host him for a workout today…a week after he emerged he was NOT present at the alleged gang rape that led to him being cut by the Buffalo Bills
Jets working on punter Matt Araiza, ESPN reported.
Araiza was cut by the Bills last year after being named in the civil lawsuit of a 17-year-old accusing him and his San Diego State teammates of raping her during a an off-campus party.
But last week, the San Diego District Attorney’s Office revealed that Araiza was not present at the time of the alleged gang rape.
A 2022 sixth-round pick, Araiza has never appeared in an NFL game to date.
