Another problem came Thursday to the current situation of Haason Reddick of the New York Jets.

The Pro Bowl pass rusher’s agents at Creative Artists Agency have parted ways with him amid a contract suspension dating back to the start of training camp, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

By NFL Network’s Mike GarafoloCAA had been trying to negotiate a deal for an extension with the Jets while Reddick himself was entrenched, leading to a split over “philosophical differences.” That’s not surprising given how bad the last few months have been for everyone hoping to see Reddick play in a Jets uniform.

The Jets acquired Reddick in March hoping he could boost a defense that tied for seventh in the NFL in stats and ranked fifth in pressure rating. Only TJ Watt, Myles Garrett and Trey Hendrickson had more sacks in the previous four seasons than the 50.5 of Reddick, who reached double figures in each of those seasons.

Crucially, the Jets made that trade with the Philadelphia Eagles without an agreement in place for a contract extension. Reddick was scheduled to hit free agency after this season. With no deal in place, Reddick opted out of training camp and then requested a trade to a team that acquired him months earlier. The Jets rejected the request.

Now that Reddick’s stamina extends into the regular season, he has reportedly lost more than $5 million in fines imposed by the NFL and lost more than $4 million in checks for missed games. He has a base salary of $14.25 million this season, according to Spotrac.

The situation was getting so bad that Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers criticized Reddick’s agents last month while complaining about an article that described the Jets as being in “complete disarray.” Turns out Reddick’s agents weren’t happy either.
