The Jets have received offers for receiver Garrett Wilson, but they won't move him

Coming off a blockbuster trade that got them a bona fide No. 1 wide receiver, the New York Jets have been fielding offers for their other top pass-catching talent.

According ESPN’s Adam SchefterThe Jets have been receiving offers from a group of unnamed NFL teams that have interest in Jets receiver Garrett Wilson.

This comes after the Jets traded with the Las Vegas Raiders for wide receiver Davante Adams.

According to Schefter, the Jets have “heard from other teams but do not plan to trade Wilson.”

While Wilson is off the table, the Jets are believed to be listening to offers for receiver Mike Williams.

Adams will join his former Green Bay quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, who now has another bona fide No. 1 wide receiver on his team.

That acquisition will see Adams alongside Wilson, seen as a star in the making, and Allen Lazard in a potent passing attack.

It could mean Williams, who spent his first seven seasons in the league with the Los Angeles Chargers before joining the Jets, could be on his way out.

Williams appeared to make a crucial mistake in the final seconds of Monday night’s game against the Bills, when he ran the wrong route and slipped, leading to a costly interception that sealed Buffalo’s victory.

On an episode of The Pat McAfee Show, Rodgers highlighted Williams’ mistake as one of the reasons the Jets lost.

‘I think if you look at my press conferences, I start with myself when I make mistakes. “I have to play better. I can’t make that shot. I can’t make that decision.” That is the standard for everyone,” the veteran said when asked about the play.

“There were a lot of mistakes throughout the night, but if you just look at that play, and that was the question, well, it was two verticals to the right side and Mike needed to get right to the red line, which has been a big profit.

‘So I wasn’t criticizing Mike for anything other than his responsibility and the details of that play. I have a lot of love and respect for Mike. I wasn’t in the right place on that play. We should all be held to a standard.

The Jets, however, are listening to offers for receiver Mike Williams after an error against Buffalo.

“I hold myself to a standard of greatness and when it hasn’t been there, which it hasn’t at certain times, I’ve stood my ground and said I have to play better. Hopefully I’ll be an example for everyone else.”

The Jets are currently 2-4 on the season and have the 16th best passing attack in the league.

They will hope to bounce back from the loss and get back into the playoff race on Sunday Night Football when they go on the road to play the Pittsburgh Steelers.
