He’s a Nine News Sydney fan favorite and has been absent from his usual spot for weeks.
And now it appears that much-loved presenter Peter Overton has faced a health scare.
The 58-year-old media veteran is currently recovering at home after recently undergoing hip replacement surgery.
Peter’s wife Jess Rowe, 53, took to Instagram on Saturday to share a health update on the Nine star.
Telling her followers that Peter is receiving lots of ‘tender loving care’, the former Studio 10 presenter also included a cute photo in her share.

In the image, Peter can be seen smiling while lying in bed while recovering from his surgery.
The image shows Peter wearing a polo shirt and baseball cap, with his bare legs crossed and draped over blankets.
Also sharing Peter’s bed are two family pets, one curled up on his pillow and the other at the news anchor’s feet.
Jess said Peter is recovering well and assured fans on her Instagram that the New News Sydney presenter would be back to work in the coming weeks. In the photo: Jess and Peter.

In the caption, Jess wrote: ‘Many of you have been missing Petee on your TV screens for the last few weeks and have been asking me where he is!
‘Well, he’s at home recovering from hip replacement surgery and getting a lot of love.
“Petee will be back on Nine News Sydney soon”.
Fans filled Jess’s responses with comments and well wishes.
‘I miss you Pete, uncross your legs! “The nurse is talking about her,” one viewer messaged.
Another fan added: ‘Legend! The best in the business! I hope you read the news again soon. I really miss watching you read the evening news.
The media darlings celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary in January.
Fans received quick messages of support from Peter and Jess.
One fan made a joke about how much Peter Jess’ cats seem to enjoy having the Nine star around the house.
“He has excellent bedfellows,” they commented, adding, “You’ll be sorry when he recovers.”
Meanwhile, Jessica is best known for her co-host role on Studio 10, which she quit in March 2018 to spend more time with her family.
The couple share two daughters, Allegra, 15, and Giselle, 13, and met when Jess was doing an internship at Channel Nine when she was 19.

Jess said Peter was one of the few people who spoke to her during her work experience period and they met again years later at Logies.
“As we were talking, I was thinking, ‘Why can’t I meet a good man like this?’ “Why don’t I attract really good and decent people like this beautiful man,” he told Mamamia in May 2018.
In January the happy couple celebrated twenty years of marriage.
