In the interview, a reflective Alba said, “I never let my guard down (as an actor).

“I’ve always been pretty tough, pretty direct about it. I probably channeled more of that tough, masculine energy.

“When I think back to why I was probably so tough for so much of my life, it was probably just to protect myself from a lot of people.”

The mermaid also opened up about what it was like to be a child star: “I could have been a potential target for a predator, but luckily I wasn’t.”

Following the premiere of explosive documentary series Quiet On Set, she opened up about her experience: “There were a few moments where things were uncomfortable, but they never got too bad, thankfully.

The Honest Company launched in 2012, four years after the birth of her first child, daughter Honor.

She shares with her husband Cash Warren, now 15, her second daughter Haven, 12, and son Hayes, six.

In a recent interview with Very simple magazine, Jessica praised the benefits therapy has had on her as a parent, saying, “It’s a process and I’m not perfect.”

She explained that she decided to seek help for herself and her daughters when “Honor was probably 11 and we were arguing all the time about stupid stuff.”

Jessica recalls: “I was like, I don’t want to live like this. It’s not funny. I didn’t want there to be a gap between us.

She explained: “As a mother, when I say something, she’s going to hear it as an argument or like I’m trying to control her. I wanted there to be someone who could explain things in a way that I couldn’t.

“What I said to Honor was, ‘I want to be a better parent to you, and this is your forum to talk about basically anything I do that annoys you.’
