He rose to fame as one of the stars of the long-running ABC sitcom Modern Family.
And on Monday, Jesse Tyler Ferguson used his celebrity platform to encourage others to take care of the sun.
He shared a photo of himself with a bandage on the back of his neck and revealed on Instagram that he had had “a little bit of skin cancer” removed.

The actor, 45, wrote: ‘Reminder to keep up to date with your dermatologic checkups…especially if you’re honest like me.
“Something is always taken from me every time I go. Today they took a piece of skin cancer they found.’
And to make the point about the importance of routine checkups, Ferguson added: “Don’t worry, I’ll be there early and I’ll be fine.”
He also shared that from now on it’s ‘SPF 1000 for me!’
