Jesse Lingard’s home debut for FC Seoul has set a new K League attendance record.
The 31-year-old completed a surprise move to the South Korean club last month after being released from his contract with Nottingham Forest at the end of last season.
Lingard’s arrival generated great excitement ahead of his home debut against Incheon United on Sunday.
A ‘Lingard Zone’ has been set up outside the stadium before the match so fans can get their hands on the former Manchester United striker’s FC Seoul merchandise.
A massive crowd of 51,670 packed into Seoul World Cup Stadium to watch Lingard in the Gyeongin Derby, setting a new K League attendance record in the process.

But they had to wait when he started on the bench again, having done the same last weekend before receiving a chorus of boos.
Lingard came onto the field when he replaced Takuya Shigehiro after the half hour mark and received a warm reception.
The match ended 0-0, but the striker had a chance to score in the 83rd minute, but could only shoot over the crossbar.
Speaking after the match, Lingard said: “I probably should have won in the end.” I had a couple of half chances.
“There are not enough clear opportunities, but I think we can take advantage of this.” I think it’s about mentality and confidence coming into these games.
Fans lined up before kickoff to get their hands on Lingards FC Seoul merchandise.
