Ronnie Ortiz-Magro and his ex-girlfriend Sammi ‘Sweetheart’ Giancola endured an awkward reunion on Thursday’s episode of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation on MTV.
The season seven episode, titled Jersey Hot Chicken Challenge, began with Ronnie, 38, and Sammi, 37, sitting at opposite ends of the table during a hot eating contest hosted by Paul ‘DJ Pauly D’ DelVecchio, 43 years old.
Vinny Guadagnino, 36, nearly derailed Pauly’s plan to ease the tension when he brought up the infamous note during the eating contest and Sammi scolded him to stop.
Pauly trusted his backup plan and called the restaurant’s pet chickens to come in and dance for them.
Ronnie and Pauly dropped out when the food got too hot for them, but Jenni ‘JWoww’ Farley, 36, and Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino, 41, remained in the competition.

Pauly mocked Ronnie for crying on his first day back as the spicy offers made his eyes water. A montage showed Ronnie crying on previous group rides while he became emotional.
“Oh my God, it hurts,” Ronnie said as he wiped away tears.
JWoww was determined to beat Mike and win the $1,000 prize and the t-shirt, but they both held on until the end and Pauly declared them co-champions.
‘The reason I chose this place is because we wouldn’t be concentrating on Ron and Sam’s stuff. Instead, everyone was focused on the chicken, the games and the contests,” Pauly said in a confessional.
Angelina Pivarnick, 37, farted in the car on the way back and that also helped ease the tension.
“Oh my god, you just made my night,” said Sammi, who had been fighting with Angelina.
Mike ran to the bathroom and so did JWoww when the food eating competition caught up with them.
Vinny apologized to Sammi for bringing up the note and crossing a line.

Pauly in a confessional was proud of his plan.
‘It’s a lot less awkward now with Sam and Ron. My plan worked because they are getting closer to each other. They don’t talk or anything, but at least they look at each other. But there are still a lot of things that could go wrong,” Pauly told the camera.
Vinny and Pauly visited Sammi the next day and she told them she was glad they stayed and had fun.
‘Vinny and Pauly are checking on me to see how I’m doing. It means a lot to me,” Sammi said in a confessional. “Seeing Ron for the first time was strange.”
Sammi told Pauly and Vinny that she was glad it was over and she was looking forward to moving on.
“He’s just someone I’ve cut out of my life for a long time.” So that was the strange part,” Sammi said. ‘But otherwise, there are no feelings. There’s nothing there.’

“If I felt a certain way, you’d hear me talk about it and you’d actually bring it up,” Ronnie said.
Ronnie gave Angelina some advice and told her not to let anything in her life stress her out.
‘You don’t have to live in chaos everywhere, Ange. You go home, you live in chaos. You’re going through things with your dad, and you’re this person and that person. It’s like you need to find some kind of peace,’ Ronnie told him.
Angelina told Ronnie about her problems with Sammi and ultimately blamed Mike for causing problems.
Mike came out of the bathroom to defend himself and Angelina said that Sammi was trying to make a name for herself at her expense.
Angelina asked Ron how he felt seeing Sammi again.
“You know, it had to happen,” Ronnie said. “I’m glad it’s over”
Angelina told Ronnie about her problems with Sammi and ultimately blamed Mike for causing problems.
Mike came out of the bathroom to defend himself.
The boys reacted instantly to her comment and promised not to repeat it to Sammi.
Mike was afraid that the girls wouldn’t take the next trip if they knew what Angelina said and they promised to keep quiet about it.
The girls headed home while the boys spent another day in Nashville with Mike, who wasn’t feeling well enough to travel due to the eating contest.
The guys had a GTL day in Nashville and Ronnie felt like he had to catch up after staying away from the show for two and a half years while he worked on himself.
Later they went to dinner at a steakhouse and Mike, as always, ordered a lot of food for the table.
They made a map and considered where everyone should go for their next family vacation.
‘Luckily, this restaurant has children’s menus with maps on the back. “We were going to use a globe, but Mike thinks the Earth is flat, so this is perfect,” Vinny joked in a confessional.
Pauly ruled out Arizona and the guys decided that should be their next trip.
They sent text messages to the girls to inform them of their decision.

‘We’re going to Arizona. And Ron’s in the group,” JWoww said after receiving the text.
‘I mean, Ron could be there. But you don’t care, do you?’ Sammi told her boyfriend Justin May.
‘Why do I feel like this is going to be a very strange trip?’ Angelina told her fiancé Vinny Tortorella.
