It’s official… Jerry Seinfeld and his wife Jessica have left home after sending their son Shepherd off to college this weekend.
And in a rare gesture, the normally private couple took several photos of their final moments together before the teenager is truly alone for the first time.
“Third and final release,” Jessica Seinfeld, 52, captioned the first of five photos she shared on her Instagram page.
The first image shows Shepherd standing between his parents, who are absolutely beaming with pride as they all stand together inside a room, presumably at their college.
It turns out the teen, who turns 19 on August 22, is following in the footsteps of his two older brothers, Sascha, 23, and Julian, 21, by attending Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.
Jerry Seinfeld, 70, and his wife Jessica Seinfeld, 52, officially became empty-nesters when they helped send their son Shepherd, who turns 19 on Aug. 22, to Duke University.
To give the weekend a more festive vibe, the couple decided to have a “pre-move brunch,” which was documented with a photo of the trio sitting on an outdoor patio.
Jessica (born Nina Danielle Sklar) looked ready for summer in black shorts and a white button-down shirt that she tied in a bow just above her waist.
The cookbook author had her long blonde hair pulled back, away from her face, in a loose bun, with the exception of a few strands of hair that she left hanging around the frame of her face.
Her 70-year-old husband sat beside her in his blue Polo shirt, blue jeans and white sneakers, his graying hair cropped short.
Older sister Sascha was on hand for her brother’s big transition weekend, as seen when the family went out for “hot wings” dressed casually in light blue sweatpants, a white sweater crop top and white sneakers.
After wearing black shorts with a white T-shirt and sneakers, Shepherd changed into a grey T-shirt when they went out that night.
His parents couldn’t resist having fun with his smoked beef brisket meals while sitting on the side of a road on the North Carolina campus.
The weekend festivities at Duke University also included a brunch before Shepherd moved in.
His older sister, Sascha Seinfeld, 23, was on hand to welcome her brother to Duke during a night of “hot wings.”
They both held out their plates of breast for everyone to see, while laughing and smiling.
Jessica Seinfeld also snuggled up for a photo with her friend Daun Dees, who is the founder and CEO of Rivet Utility.
It seems the legendary stand-up comedian is becoming something of a regular at Duke University considering he recently gave the commencement address for the class of 2024.
And that’s after spending time on campus during the years Sascha and Julian attended college.
Since they’re both from New York, the couple felt the need to try smoked brisket during an event on campus.
Jessica also snuggled up for a photo with her friend Daun Dees, who is the founder and CEO of Rivet Utility.
Proud of her career, Jessica also took time to share a screenshot of the 100% approval Tomatometer that the documentary Daughters received on Rotten Tomatoes.
The Oyster Bay, New York, native served as executive producer on the film, which dropped on Netflix on Aug. 14 after having its world premiere at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival.
Directed by Natalie Rae and Angela Patton, Daughters follows four young people as they prepare for a special father-daughter dance with their incarcerated fathers, as part of a unique fatherhood program at a Washington, D.C. jail.
“Last night we celebrated the premiere of the @daughtersdocumentary documentary on @netflix with a screening for friends,” she wrote in the caption of the Instagram post. “The sobs (and laughter) were audible, as our audience enjoyed an emotional rollercoaster ride with the brave and beautiful incarcerated fathers and their daughters in our film.

Jessica Seinfeld also expressed her pride in the documentary Daughters, which she executive produced, after it received a perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes’ Tomatometer.
The couple first met at a Reebok Sports Club on Manhattan’s Upper West Side in August 1998.
“I was going through a tough time and Jerry Seinfeld came up to me and tried to make me laugh, but I wasn’t really interested in being entertained at the time,” Jessica told The New York Times during a 2007 interview.
“He spoke to me again and said something funny, and I actually had to laugh.”
It turns out that Jessica had just married theater producer Eric Nederlander that year, but soon after they began to talk about problems within the property.
Finally, about a year later, they began dating after she separated from her husband and divorced him within the same calendar year of their nuptials.
Jerry and Jessica celebrated the premiere of Daughters when they attended the Netflix premiere on August 7 at The Paris Theatre in New York City.
The couple eventually got engaged in November 1999, leading to them tying the knot during a Christmas Day ceremony on December 25 of that year.
Almost a year after getting married, Jessica and Jerry welcomed their first child, Sascha.
It would be almost three years until they welcomed their second child together, Julian, followed by Shepherd in August 2005.
Jerry and Jessica Seinfeld will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary next Christmas Day, December 25.
