Jeopardy! viewers are furious at having to watch reruns of the recently released 40th season after the 24/7 streaming channel Pluto TV, which played classic episodes, disappeared without warning.
The beloved game show, hosted by Ken Jennings, is now on summer break after the last series ended on July 26 after 230 episodes.
While Season 41 has been confirmed to officially begin on September 9 and run through July 2025, devoted fans currently have no choice but to rewatch Season 40 if they want to get their Jeopardy! fix.
Viewers have been able to watch a wealth of old episodes at their leisure on Pluto TV over the past two years.
But earlier this month, frustrated fans went online only to discover the platform had quietly pulled the plug on their on-demand streams.

“I hate that they’re re-airing something that aired so recently,” one disgruntled viewer fumed on Reddit.
‘I don’t remember how they usually do it, but it would be great if they just did a random series from a few years ago so the episodes at least felt a little fresher.’
Another fumed: “I was counting on Pluto to get me through the next six weeks.”
“I too am mourning the sudden loss of Pluto Jeopardy,” agreed a third.
‘We were excited to watch the first episode with Alex (Trabek) as host, as he explained the rules and gameplay.
‘I thought they just managed to show some new (well, old) episodes, but they disappeared the next day.’
A fourth added: ‘Pluto TV got rid of the Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune channels. That’s bullshit. What else am I supposed to watch non-stop all day?’
Pluto TV addressed the Jeopardy issue in a statement posted on social media user X.
Viewers had been able to watch a slew of old episodes at their leisure on Pluto TV over the past two years, until it was quietly axed.
Frustrated viewers took to social media platforms to voice their grievances.
Pluto TV officials confirmed that Jeopardy! reruns are “not on the schedule at this time.”
“Programming is constantly evolving based on feedback from our users and content availability, so channels are added and removed over time,” it reads.
“This doesn’t mean it won’t come back in the future, but it’s not on the schedule for now.”
In 2022, Jeopardy! distributor Sony Pictures Television signed a two-year licensing deal with Pluto TV, greenlighting hundreds of old episodes to air on the channel alongside Wheel of Fortune.
But while Pluto and Sony had talks about renewing their agreement, it seems the two companies were unable to come to an agreement to extend their license.
Wheel of Fortune fans will get their fix of new episodes on September 9 when the new series begins.
The show’s launch will see Ryan Seacrest make his debut, after replacing long-serving host Pat Sajak, who stepped down in June after 43 years.
