The 55-year-old star filed for divorce without a lawyer on Tuesday, August 20, which also marked the couple's second wedding anniversary.

Jennifer Lopez had requested to revert to her former last name as part of her divorce petition from ex-husband Ben Affleck.

The 55-year-old star filed for divorce without a lawyer on Tuesday, August 20, which also marked the couple’s second wedding anniversary.

In her petition, seen by DailyMail.com, Lopez requested that her name be restored to Jennifer Lynn Lopez, removing the name Affleck entirely.

Lopez, who was recently seen wearing her wedding ring, indicated that the date of separation will be April 26, 2024.

The couple did not sign a prenuptial agreement before tying the knot in July 2022, sources close to the couple revealed. This is Jennifer’s fourth failed marriage and Ben’s second.

Without a prenuptial agreement, their individual earnings from the past two years, whether from film projects or deals with major brands, would be community property.

Jennifer, who has a net worth of $400 million, has released four films since marrying Ben, including her self-financed $20 million project This Is Me… Now: A Love Story, which documents the couple’s rekindled romance.

She launched her Delola cocktail line in 2023 and was set to embark on a world tour in support of her latest album ‘This Is Me… Now’, but it was cancelled weeks before the start so she could ‘focus’ on family.

Ben, an Oscar winner with an estimated net worth of $150 million, has recently starred in the films Air (2023) and Hypnotic (2023). He has also recently completed production on a sequel to The Accountant (2016).

To further complicate matters, Jennifer and Ben were working on the upcoming film, Unstoppable.

While Affleck is producing the project alongside Matt Damon, Lopez is among the film’s stars.

Jennifer is not seeking spousal support and has asked the judge to deny it to Ben as well.

According to a new report from PeopleIt was alleged that Lopez also had a hand in getting Afffleck to focus more on his children.

The site claimed that the Atlas actress motivated the Argo director to be more “family-oriented.”

During their two years of marriage, which Ben hinted at months ago, children were “very important to them,” the source added.

Lopez shares twins Max and Emme, 16, with ex-husband Marc Anthony, while Affleck shares three children with ex-wife Jennifer Garner: Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12.

But the way they spent time with the children was said to divide them.

While JLo was happy to take the little ones shopping and to fun events, Affleck preferred to hang out at home.

“They are very different people,” the source added of Affleck and Lopez. “She is very public and wants to go out, and he is more introverted and happy to stay at home.”

In fact, Jennifer was often seen traveling with the kids as she has a busy schedule.

And she probably wanted to take her five children with her on her summer tour, which has been postponed until 2025.

Ben may not want to go out as much because he is not as sociable as Lopez.

In an interview with Kevin Hart earlier this year, Ben said he was “shy”: “I’m a little bit shy too. I don’t like to draw too much attention to myself,” he told the comedian.

“That’s why people see me and wonder, ‘Why is this guy always angry? ‘ Because someone put the camera in my face and I was like, ‘Okay, here we go.'”

“You have a resting bitch face,” Hart joked. “Bitch? Now,” Affleck replied while pretending to be angry.

“I have a hard expression on my face. People project onto me something that I don’t feel at all in myself.”
