Jennifer Lopez Indulges in Cookies and More, Says Ben Affleck.

Date:

Ben Affleck talks about his new wife, Jennifer Lopez.

During a video chat with Drew Barrymore for her talk showThe 53-year-old mom-and-pop actress can eat whatever she wants and still look fabulous, the airs director said.

And the Oscar winner — who was seen with his son this week — got into the details.

Let me tell you something that will bother you. Jennifer eats whatever she wants. Everything you want. “She eats cookies and ice cream and everything,” Jennifer Garner’s ex-husband began.

Drew asked if all that exercise was keeping JLO slim. ‘It works. I work out too but I don’t magically look like a 20-something, you know what I mean, perfect skin and all, he joked.

There is no exclusion of work ethic, work ethic is real, discipline is real, but also the super thing is real. She is the most beautiful woman in the world, she looks amazing.

And when asked what JLo would like to change about him, he likely said how he talks so much.

Perhaps you want to cultivate brevity in the way I speak. I don’t know if you noticed it but I keep going over and over again. I talk in circles. She never told me that but that would be my guess.

Drew then asked, “When was the last time you dipped skinny?”

Ben: This is going to turn into a different kind of story. My wife and I went on a mini vacation recently, we went to the pool, I don’t know if that counts as skinny dipping. It wasn’t like an 80’s college movie.

Drew: Were you naked?

Ben: “We were naked in the pool, yeah.”

Ben has also talked about the Burger King commercial he starred in when he was 16 years old.

“If I had known the ad would get that kind of response, I would have been more optimistic about my career,” said the Good Will Hunting actor.

Too close: When asked what JLo would like to change about him, he probably said how he talks so much. Perhaps you want to cultivate brevity in the way I speak. I don’t remember similar enthusiasm at that time. The manager almost fired me and now I can see why.

Drew then asked if he was fired from the job.

“Yeah, I remember that. I remember two things. First, I was 16 or maybe 17 and I remember the car guy, you know because it was a car in the commercial and I had to drive it, and they’re always worried about the actors driving.”

I remember him asking me, “Do you know how to drive a kid?” It was in New York and I was like, “Yeah I know how to drive,” they were like, “Are you sure?” I was like, “You guys have come five hundred or a thousand miles.”

“I also remember being like, ‘I don’t know why this director keeps making me do this over and over again,’ and now looking at the performance I have a better idea.”

Then Affleck talked about his movie “Air”.

He said he spoke to Michael Jordan about not having anyone film him.

I don’t think it would be possible to convince the public that anyone other than Michael Jordan is Michael Jordan, and so seeing his face and selling it out there, would not only lose the audience, but them as well. Be like, “This is all wrong, this is all a lie,” and a lot of the work you’re trying to do is create realism but that’s really his mom’s story, it’s not his story.

So I actually talked to him, he was like, ‘My mom did this. My mom took me to work. I wanted to play Nintendo”…so it wasn’t because he was driving that side of it. He’s cool, he’s the greatest.

Then Ben talked about breaking up with best friend Matt Damon.

We shared a bank account and I always thought it was totally normal. We wanted to be actors and we were in Boston and we wanted to go to New York… So we’d work a little bit, do an extra or a streak here and there, the occasional Burger King commercial and then take that money and put it in the account and we were both, we were friends and we wanted each other to succeed and love each other so it seemed obvious like let’s do it together and later, which is really valuable because I think kind of starting in a field like this can feel very lonely but we shared this bank account with our 20’s, even when we were living, and we wrote Good Will Hunting In a house in Eagle Rock, a neighborhood in L.A. that was, at the time, an inexpensive neighborhood and very far from all the places you had to go to audition, and then when we sold Good Will Hunting I was like, “Now we’re rich for life.” My needs are over, and I’ll never have to work again. I’m forever rich.”

We sold it for $600k we split it up $300k each then the agents got $30k so we had $270k we paid taxes about $160k so we had $110k each bought $55k , then he bought $55,000, which naturally we decided to rent a $5,000-a-month party house on Glencoe Way by the Hollywood Bowl and we were broke in six months.

Drew then asked him about a moment in life that he wanted to relive over and over again.

There are many things, the birth of my children, all the things I have done with my children. It’s just the joy of life, it’s the heart of life. These beautiful babies who are innocent and loving and want to sit on your lap and hold you, and then they turn into, “You can close the door,” like, “Oh, so you don’t want to play chutes and ladders, I can go?” It’s the gift of life all those moments, and I’m starting to see Now how fleeting it is, but now I appreciate all these little moments.

“I just went and looked at colleges with my daughter and showed Good Will Hunting to my middle child, and that was one of the best experiences of my life.”
