And on Friday the actress showed off one of the tools she’s used over the years to keep her mind and body fit and healthy.
Despite temperatures that eventually reached 107 degrees Fahrenheit, the The Hollywood leading lady embarked on an intense race with one of her friends in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles, which is not far from where she lives with her three children.
The former Alias star showed off her fit physique in skintight black leggings, a ‘Save the children’ T-shirt and baby blue sneakers.
Completing her sporty ensemble, Garner swept her long dark brown locks out of her face and pulled them back into a ponytail, wearing dark sunglasses to help with the glaring Southern California sun.

At times, Garner kept a steady pace during his walk through the suburban neighborhood, but then there seemed to be times when he would speed up and do a few sprints, as a way to build up his cardio.
Taking note of the photographer’s admiration, the Peppermint star, 51, gave him a quick look and a smile, all without breaking his brisk pace and stride.
Her friend followed close behind as the duo ran down sidewalks, through a park, and down trails, despite the scorching heat.
During an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show this past April, Garner shared how she incorporates jogging into her daily effort to break a sweat.
‘What I do in the morning is work out,’ he told Barrymore, who seemed surprised and replied: ‘Every day? Oh God.’
Seeing how defeated the host seemed when he learned that Garner works out almost every day, he clarified his revelation, adding, “No, Drew, really. You have to do hard cardio to get that, to get yourself, sorry you do.
Garner went on to share how he believes that the act of moving our bodies not only improves the body but also the mind and brain,
We need it in our bodies, but we need it in our brains. Your brain needs it! she stated.

“You find something that really makes you happy while you’re doing it or it’s not going to work, because this isn’t going to get done,” the Once Upon A Farm co-founder told the talk show host.
