Jenna Ortega has revealed a strange object she stumbled upon while spending time at eccentric director Tim Burton’s California home.

While the Beetlejuice director is known for his gothic film style, it seems his home decor reflects this as well.

“You walk in and it’s the huge throne from Alice in Wonderland,” said the 21-year-old actress. Vanity Fair.

He then revealed: “There’s a jar of eyeballs in the bathroom.”

The Edward Scissorhands filmmaker is also known for carrying small statues in his pockets, objects Ortega refers to as “his little creatures.”

Jenna Ortega usually keeps her cards close to her chest when it comes to her life, but she spilled the beans on director Tim Burton and his decorating style. “You walk in and you see the huge throne from Alice in Wonderland,” the 21-year-old actress told Vanity Fair. “There’s a jar full of eyeballs in the bathroom.”

The former Disney star worked with the iconic director on the hit Netflix show Wednesday, which is now in production for its second season, and Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, which debuts in theaters September 6.

“He practically put a script in my hand and it was Beetlejuice,” the actress said.

“For the better part of the last year and a half I’ve felt very far away from myself,” Ortega told the outlet, describing the experience as “very dissociative, alien and out of body.”

“When people mention my name, it’s almost like it’s been taken away from me. Now I feel like I’m floating and… open to interpretation.”

What isn’t up for interpretation is the young star’s devotion to her craft. She has been working as an actress since the age of 10, working in small roles in a variety of guest appearances until she was cast as the lead character in the 2014 YouTube series Know It All Nina.

Ortega also played Young Jane, Gina Rodriguez’s adult character, on Jane the Virgin for several years.

Ortega has been in Dublin, where he is filming the second season of Wednesday.

After receiving bad press following her admission on the Armchair Expert podcast with Dax Shepherd and Monica Padman that she behaved “almost unprofessionally” on the set of the hit show based on the Addams Family, the young actress appeared to be reconsidering her approach.

“To be honest… I probably could have used my words better to describe all of that. I think I’m often a big slacker,” she explained.

“I think it was difficult because I felt like if I had represented the situation better, it probably would have been better received.”

Ortega, now a producer on the show, is excited to officially be able to have a say in what Wednesday does and says.

Ortega, 21, has been working with the iconic director on the second season of Wednesday in Dublin, which he hinted will feature new villains and supernatural abilities.
