“You know what I would say about that in particular too? I love that there are so many more female leads nowadays. I think that’s very special, but we should have our own.”
Jenna continued: “I don’t like when it’s like a spin-off, I don’t want to see something like ‘Jamie Bond’. You know? I want to see another badass.”
Ortega was clearly referring to Lashana Lynch, whose MI6 agent character Nomi took over the role of 007 in Cary Joji Fukunaga’s 2021 film No Time to Die from Daniel Craig’s retired James Bond.

“So far, everything is going well. We are staying true to our roots and the project has become much bigger, much more developed,” announced the Taste video presenter. AND on August 20th.
“The characters have really amazing arcs and we have amazing set pieces and storylines. It all feels so much more exciting from the start, and the audience will have a lot to look forward to. The first time around, the pressure of working with Tim for the first time was enormous. Everyone loves this character. No one is ever happy with that kind of stuff. You have to prove yourself a bit.”
Jenna continued: “It’s a weird feeling, but the second time around, seeing how it was received, there’s obviously that pressure to keep pushing it further and doing better. In the first season of a show you’re discovering things, by the second season you’ve already found your groove.”
The second season of Alfred Gough and Miles Millar’s The Addams Family spin-off will also star Heather Matarazzo, Steve Buscemi, Christopher Lloyd, Joanna Lumley, Thandiwe Newton, Frances O’Connor and Haley Joel Osment.
Ortega’s other upcoming projects include Paramount+’s romantic drama Winter Spring Summer or Fall, A24’s dark comedy Death of a Unicorn and Sony Pictures’ sci-fi film Klara and the Sun, directed by Taika Waititi.
