Jenna Bush Hager was left blushing during Wednesday’s Today with Hoda & Jenna when her co-host was forced to remove a piece of food from her tooth live on air and suggested she hadn’t brushed her teeth before going to work.
As Jenna, 42, and Hoda Kotb kicked off the latest episode of the NBC show, the latter interrupted their conversation and laughed: “You’ve got something in your teeth.” It’s there, I’m sorry!’ which left the mother of three horrified.
‘What is it? I have not eaten today!’ Jenna exclaimed looking quite embarrassed as Hoda, 59, scoffed: ‘Well, it must have been from yesterday!’ prompting the behind-the-scenes crew to burst into laughter as Jenna pleaded, ‘Can I have something to look at my teeth in?’
Taking charge of the situation, Hoda, a mother of two, tore off a piece of paper and declared: ‘I’ll get it! Just give it to me!’ as Jenna leaned forward and allowed her co-host to remove the food from her bottom teeth.

Jenna’s co-host Hoda Kotb couldn’t resist letting her know she had something black between her teeth.
The mother of three looked quite embarrassed as Hoda laughed and mocked her.
Hoda tried to remove the piece of food from Jenna’s mouth with a piece of paper.
Then Hoda asked him, ‘Did you get it?’ to which Jenna replied: ‘Ewwwwww, I don’t know! I did?’ as her co-host confirmed, “Yeah, he’s gone,” and she tried to move the conversation forward.
However, Jenna clearly wasn’t over it and a few minutes later blurted out, “By the way, I’m sorry about what was in my teeth!” as Hoda joked: “You got it, since yesterday.”
‘I’m sorry, that’s so gross! I brushed my teeth twice!’ Jenna stated, as Hoda bluntly responded, ‘Well, I was there. It’s okay, sometimes we just miss a little point.’
However, one viewer tuning into the show was unimpressed with the interaction and took to X, formerly known as Twitter, and wrote: ‘Hoda constantly criticizes Jenna. Was it really necessary for her to embarrass her on national television and tell her that she had food in her teeth?
This isn’t the first time the two women have discussed personal hygiene on air, and last year in July they admitted to sharing a controversial shower habit while debating whether or not there was a correct way to wash and shave.
Today.com Editorial Director Arianna Davis was on the show for a segment about the latest issues dividing the internet and asked the couple, ‘Should you wash your feet while you’re in the shower?’
Not just take a shower, but should you specifically stand up, go down there and wash them? “This is an ongoing debate,” she added.
‘Oh no. No,” Hoda responded immediately. Anyway, I feel like it’s going that way. They’re cleaning up.
Jenna claimed she hadn’t eaten anything in the morning when her co-host tried to help her.
The TV presenter called the incident “disgusting” and said she had brushed her teeth “twice”.
During an episode last July, Hoda and Jenna talked about personal hygiene with Today.com editorial director Arianna Davis.
Jenna chimed in to say she “100 percent” agrees with her co-star while Arianna threw up her hands and shook her head in disbelief.
The Read with Jenna founder pushed the conversation further when she asked about Hoda’s shaving habits.
—Do you bend over to shave your legs? she asked her co-star, who explained that she puts her “leg on the landing.”
“So you can put your leg up there and rub those little feet,” Jenna pointed out.
However, Hoda pointed out that Jenna wouldn’t do that and she agreed: ‘You know I wouldn’t do it!’
Davis made it clear that she disagreed with the co-hosts, saying that she’s “down there rubbing between her toes.”
