The mother-of-three shared a heartwarming photo of her eldest daughter, Mila, sitting in the empty flat just before moving out.
” It’s empty. That’s when we were leaving,” she said.
“Oh, was that sad?” » asked Kotb.
“It was sad, but also, we took this picture,” Bush Hager said. “Now we’ve moved in with the kids several times (and taken pictures) with the flat empty and the kids sitting in it.”
“There’s something in the first (house),” she added, saying it was where they brought home two of their three children.
Bush Hager lived in Baltimore, Maryland with her husband after they married in 2008. They moved to New York a few years later to be closer to her twin sister, Barbara Bush.
The couple welcomed Mila in 2013 and Poppy in 2015. Their daughters are now ten and eight, and they also have a son, Hal, who turned four earlier this month.
Bush Hager and his family moved to Fairfield County, Connecticut last year after registering their Apartment in New York for $5.375 million in spring 2022.
In February, she gave a behind-the-scenes look at her immaculately decorated new home on Instagram while sharing photos of the cozy weekend she spent with her best friend, ceramicist Laird Gough, and her husband, Ross Gough.

“Scenes from a freezing weekend with my (heart),” she captioned the footage.
The mother-of-three hasn’t publicly announced their move to Connecticut, although her family’s most recent greeting card pays tribute to their “new playground”.
Bush Hager’s post marked the first time she gave her fans a peek inside the property, which she moved into last year.
She stopped posting photos taken inside her Tribeca condo in April 2022, around the time the property hit the market.

Their beach house and former condo were decorated by Dallas-based interior designer Traci White, who was Bush Hager’s roommate at the University of Texas.
Bush Hager opened up about his beloved beach house on the North Shore in an interview with Veranda in 2019, which featured images of the property.
She said they had rented in the area for about five or six summers and fell in love with the cottage during an open house.
“There was something that reminded me of Texas, being outdoors. Even so close to town, it was still a bit remote,” she told the magazine.
When designing the home’s interior, Bush Hager salvaged old pieces from her and her husband’s family and reupholstered them, including a 20th-century sofa by its side and a pair of wingbacks from the Hager.
“Jenna and her mother (former First Lady Laura Bush) enjoy looking at individual pieces and finding the beauty in what’s there,” White told Veranda. “It’s never about ‘new, new, new’.’
The article was published about three years before the Hagers moved to Connecticut, but it seemed to hint that they would one day leave New York.
In the interview, Bush Hager talked about her love of the great outdoors and how she imagined her three children having their own backyard to run around barefoot.
“There’s something beautiful about sitting down there with your friends and kids watching the rain fall,” she said. “You are outside and you are barefoot. This is how Henry and I grew up, and this is what we want for our children.
