Jenna Bush Hager revealed that she had a boyfriend with a Secret Service agent while on it Remember how Katie Holmes called her when she was preparing for her role in First Daughter in her early primetime.
The TODAY star, 41, sat down with Holmes and Julia Mayorga to talk about their new movie, Rare Objects. Wed show When Hoda Kotb brought up the 2004 rom-com.
“When you’re looking for a role, you’re looking for a role,” Kotb told Holmes. “And I don’t know if you remember when you played First Daughter… I want to bring you back because that was so important.
‘So here it is.’ Jenna happened to be the first daughter during this time. And Katie, in your research, have you ever communicated with a young lady named Jenna Bush? Are you trying to get a little information?
Jenna Bush Hager, 41, revealed on Today Wednesday that one of her friends was introduced to a Secret Service agent years ago.

The host made this hilarious confession while she and Hoda Kotb were interviewing Katie Holmes and Julia Mayorga on the Wednesday show.
“I think I did,” the actress replied with a smile.
In the film, Holmes played Samantha Mackenzie, the daughter of the President of the United States, who falls in love with the undercover Secret Service agent who was assigned to protect her by her father while she attends college.
In search of insight into the character, I reached out to Bush Hager, whose father, former President George W. Bush, served as Commander-in-Chief from 2001 to 2009.
When Holmes was looking for the role, it was the real one The first daughter was a student at the University of Texas at Austin, where she graduated with a BA in English in 2004.
It’s funny that when the Dawson’s Creek star called Posh Hagar, she was watching the actress on the teen drama.
“I was with my college mates, we were watching Dawson’s Creek – I’m not kidding – we turned it off and I’m like… ‘Who called me from L.A.?'” ”

Holmes confirmed during the clip that she had reached out to Bush Hager while preparing for her role in the 2004 rom-com First Daughter.

I heard the message and it was Katie and I was so embarrassed. I also mean, if you had come in and done research, you’d have said, “Wow, that was so boring.”
Bosch Hager admitted her life wasn’t quite as exciting as the movie, but she did admit that the plot of the Secret Service romance wasn’t entirely off base.
“I never fell in love with a Secret Service guy,” she explained. “But I had a friend who reconciled with one.”
The hosts and their guests laughed at the revelation.
‘I am sure you did,’ replied Holmes. I mean, that sounds like a friend’s business.
“It’s not right for me, but a friend could,” added the former first daughter of the kissing session.

Bush Hager’s father, former President George W. Bush (pictured in 2004), was in the White House from 2001 to 2009, but she admitted her life wasn’t as exciting as the movie.

Bush Hager recalled how she was watching Dawson’s Creek when she saw Holmes’ missed call, but never called her because she was “embarrassed”

Bush Hager apologized to Holmes, explaining, “My real life didn’t match up with the movie. The search was… gross”
At the end of the interview, Bush Hager apologized to Holmes for not returning her phone call two decades ago.
“Why, because you were embarrassed?” Qutb asked.
“Well, my real life didn’t match up in the movie,” Bush Hager explained. “The search was…gross.”
Holmes shared that First Daughter was “a fun movie to do,” saying she still looks to Bush Hager for inspiration even though they never connected.
“I just felt like, ‘What is this?'” “To bear it — you carried it so beautifully,” she told the Today host.
Bush Hager said, “I’m going to cry.”
“We are in for a moment,” Qutb said.
“It’s a girls’ party,” added Holmes with a smile.
