Jenelle Evans reveals a man tried to break into her North Carolina home over the weekend: ‘Me and my children are safe, but a bit shaken up’

Jenelle Evans had a big scare over the weekend when a man tried to break into the home she shares with her three children.

The Teen Mom OG star, 32, revealed to TMZ who was the victim of an attempted robbery at his home in North Carolina.

The attempted break-in comes at a rather tumultuous time for Evans and her family, as her husband David Eason reportedly plans to file for divorce.

Evans told TMZ, through his manager Austin Keen, “With everything that’s already going on, this couldn’t have happened at a worse time.”

“My children and I are safe, but a little shaken, the local community and the police department are doing everything they can to ensure the capture of this person,” he added.

“I will soon be laying out the details of exactly what happened that night,” he revealed in the statement.

‘For now, we ask for prayers and privacy until my family and I recover from this terrifying experience. Thank you to everyone who is helping us catch this perpetrator,” Evans concluded.

The Columbus County Sheriff’s Office confirmed there was an attempted break-in at his home.

The Sheriff’s Office added that a deputy responded to Evans’ home for a call about a home invasion, but the suspect had fled when they arrived.

The unidentified person attempted to enter through the rear of the residence, but was unable to enter.

He then entered Evans’ garage and began throwing some of his personal items from the garage onto the grass.

The agent reported that no items were missing from the home, although the lock on the back door through which the man tried to enter was damaged.

This comes after a report on Friday revealed that her husband David Eason is planning to file for divorce from Evans, after she allegedly kicked him and their 16-year-old daughter Maryssa out of their home.

That also comes after Evans was reunited with his oldest son, Jace, 14, who was removed from their home by Child Protective Services after Eason allegedly attacked Jace in September 2023.

“I have good news and right now I’m shaking with anxiety,” he began in the clip. “All accusations against me and my husband have been officially dropped.”

“I wasn’t going to share this information, I was actually going to keep it private and just give a vague statement,” the MTV alum added. “But right now I need to control the narrative.”

Janelle said she will not share details of the case for now, stressing her priority on Jace’s mental well-being.

“I would appreciate it if everyone respected my son’s privacy so he can monitor his mental health,” she said before adding that “someone is already leaking information.”

He said it was probably Jace’s father, Andrew Lewis, or his mother, Barbara Evans, because they are the “only two people who knew the information.”
