Jelena Dokic has hit back at trolls who shamed her online after she lost a whopping 20kg.
The tennis star recently lost weight by eating more salads and soups and eliminating unhealthy late-night binges.
Speaking on the Today show on Friday, the Channel Nine commentator, 41, said she has received many nasty messages over the years about her weight, regardless of her size.
‘I’ve been on a health journey and lost some weight, and that’s not enough either. “People feel like I don’t stand up for size 20 people now, which is what I was,” she said.
“So you feel damned if you do and damned if you don’t.”

Speaking on the Today show on Friday, the Channel Nine commentator said she has received many nasty messages over the years about her weight, regardless of her size.
It comes after she explained on Instagram that people had shamed her for supposedly succumbing to “diet culture” and “no longer representing plus size people.”
‘It’s not good if you gain weight and it’s not good if you lose weight. It seems like it’s not good if you’re a size 0, 10 or 18,” Dokic said in a lengthy post.
‘So you all know that I am very open and honest. Whether I gain weight, lose weight, get depressed, feel good, go through good or bad. I am always honest about both parties.

‘So I thought I’d quickly address my recent weight loss because a few people wrote to me and commented too. I have lost 20 kilos since my heaviest weight last year.
‘I had some health problems but I also wanted to be healthier and fitter and when I turned 40 last year I really started to think about my family history of diabetes, high blood pressure and heart problems.
‘Also, my work has increased dramatically and I needed to be in better physical and mental shape and have more energy.
‘I didn’t have enough energy, especially mentally, to keep up. I needed to eat healthier to achieve this.
The former sports star has campaigned for people to support body image acceptance in others, but came under fire from trolls after revealing she recently lost 20kg from her heaviest weight last year.
‘So, I didn’t focus so much on the weight, but on making better decisions to feel better. With that, the weight started to come off.”
Dokic explained that he had lost weight due to a “family history of diabetes” and the fact that he had recently been diagnosed with high blood pressure.
He also revealed exactly how he did it.
‘I stopped eating late at night, especially things like burgers, pizza, fries and desserts because they made me feel very sluggish when I woke up, especially for work and an early morning flight. So I no longer eat heavy meals at night and I don’t eat after 7 p.m.,” Dokic wrote.
‘Now I eat more salads and soups with my meals, like Caesar salad with chicken or tomato soup with multigrain bread. This type of food does not make me lethargic and fills me up.
‘I now drink more water and have reduced my consumption of soft drinks, even diet soft drinks.
“They’re small changes over time and while I still have my cheeseburger and fries days, it’s a lot less and I definitely don’t eat junk food when I work and travel.”
