A jealous ex-husband laughed when he told police how he shot off his new lover’s penis with a gun.
Bunteurm Oonkaew, 37, had been drinking with his own girlfriend when he burst into a rage and stormed into his ex-wife’s home in Chumphon, southern Thailand, on Thursday evening.
He pushed open the door before pointing the gun at Somchai Sakoolchai, 40, and shooting him in the groin, which Bunteurm said was an accident.
Shocked ex-wife Ubonrat, 35, called the police and Bunteurm, a lottery seller, was arrested at his home.

Shocked ex-wife Ubonrat, 35, called the police on her former husband Bunteurm, who is the father of her two children
Bunteurm used a black metal gun to shoot off his ex-wife’s new boyfriend’s penis, which he says happened by accident
Although he told officers the gun went off “accidentally,” he was remanded in custody on suspicion of attempted murder.
If found guilty of attempted murder, Bunteurm could face up to 15 years in prison.
Somchai was taken to hospital where he was conscious, but his penis was so badly injured that doctors fear he will no longer function.
Bunteurm laughed when he told the police: ‘I just came back from work and sat drinking alcohol in the room with my girlfriend before I got up and took out the gun, which I keep in the closet.
“I was walking past my ex-wife’s house so I stopped to talk to her, but I accidentally had the gun in my hand and accidentally pulled the trigger.
“The gun went off and hit the area between Somchai’s legs, but that wasn’t my intention.
“I was startled, so I quickly left and put the gun back in the clothes rack as before and closed the door to the room until the police arrived.”
Bunteurm’s ex-wife Ubonrat told police she had two children with her former husband – a 15-year-old boy and a nine-year-old girl.
However, Ubonrat said her ex hadn’t been able to move on since they divorced about six years ago.
She said Bunteurm had pushed open the door of her one-storey house and called out, “Where is he?”
The angry ex would then have shoved the gun into her new partner’s groin before pulling back and firing at his crotch.
The bullet hit him in the penis.
Ubonrat said, ‘I don’t mind if his penis stops working. The doctors said it was shot and it won’t work.”

Paramedics rushed the man to hospital, where his condition is stable, but his penis is damaged.
Ubonrat said: ‘I told the police what happened. My ex-husband shot my boyfriend. It wasn’t a mistake.
“I pray that he is well. He’s good to me.
“I don’t mind if his penis doesn’t work anymore. The doctors said it was fired and it won’t work.’
The lottery ticket seller appeared in good spirits as he told his actions to the police in Thailand
Police officers, including one in a bulletproof vest, sat at Bunteurm while he was handcuffed
Lieutenant Colonel Prapas Wi-Prajong, deputy police commissioner of Mueang Chumphon Police Station, said Bunteurm was being held in custody and questioned on suspicion of “attempting to kill another person with a firearm, possessing firearms without authorization and carrying a weapon in public without permission’.
The police officer added: ‘The suspect has admitted to shooting at his wife’s new partner, but he claims he did so by accident. We don’t believe it was a mistake.
“Prosecutors have been ordered to prepare charges for the attempted murder of another person.”
Attempted murder carries a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison.
