Rome police described the shooting as an apparent suicide.

They said that after Davis was shot, her car was in the freeway pick-up lane, rolled onto an embankment, according to The Independent.

Green and Davies, both residents of Rome, are believed to have had a domestic relationship in the past, but it remains unclear how the relationship ended.

Davis’s family described Green as a jealous person who couldn’t let Davis go, but admitted that they never thought he would kill her.

They said she was “loving, caring, and would give the shirt to anyone,” 11 Alive News reported.

“It feels like a dream… I just want to wake up,” said Walter.

Walters said her daughter, whose children ranged in age from 5 to 18, was a “good mother of seven”.

Effie Wilson, Davis’ distraught aunt, believes killing her nieces was senseless.

“Nobody thinks anymore, they kill children and they kill adults,” she said.

She added, “There were more women, and there was no point in taking her away.”

Horrified by the morning’s tragedy, Chick-fil-A general manager Greg Major issued a statement.

We are currently cooperating with the police who are investigating. “No other guests or members were hurt, but we grieve for the community,” Major said.

We have closed the restaurant for the day to repair and take care of our team members. Thank you for your patience all this time; We plan to reopen tomorrow.

Police also confirmed that Chick-fil-A had nothing to do with the incident.

The restaurant where the fatal shooting took place was the same place that Chick-fil-A boss Dan Cathy visited. Law and crime mentioned.

Pictures from the crime scene showed a heavy police presence.
