JD Vance says Donald Trump’s comments questioning whether Vice President Kamala Harris is black were “hysterical” and claimed the media is “overreacting.”

Trump’s running mate said Harris has a “fundamentally chameleon-like nature” and praised the Republican presidential nominee for facing a “hostile audience.”

Meanwhile, the Biden administration is facing fury for offering the 9/11 masterminds a plea deal to avoid the death penalty in exchange for life sentences.

House Speaker Mike Johnson, a Republican, called the deal “unthinkable” and a “slap in the face” to the families of Americans killed in the terrorist attacks.

JD Vance called Donald Trump’s comments questioning Kamala Harris’ racial heritage “hysterical” and compared the vice president to a “chameleon.”

Trump’s running mate was aboard his campaign plane speaking to reporters when he defended the Republican candidate for facing “hostile audiences.”

It came hours after Trump claimed Harris “became a black person.”

“I honestly think it’s hysterical how the media is overreacting to this,” Vance said.

“The president doesn’t do pre-arranged nonsense. He goes to hostile audiences, he answers tough questions, he pushes back, but he really answers them. How great it is to have an American leader who isn’t afraid to go into hostile places and really answer some tough questions!” he added.

“I found what she said hysterical. I think it highlighted the fundamental chameleon nature of Kamala Harris.

She changes her mind on every issue. She’s fake.

“She’s a fraud. And I think our entire campaign is going to have a lot of fun pointing that out. And it looks like the president kicked us in the ass.”

Democratic lawmakers are fiercely defending Vice President Kamala Harris as she takes on former President Donald Trump, despite her record as the “most liberal” senator.

Republicans are attacking the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee and former California senator, calling him a “radical” progressive from San Francisco.

They say he is even more progressive than self-proclaimed Democratic Socialist Senator from Vermont, Bernie Sanders.

And millions of people are feeding into attack ads reminding American voters how she supported health care for illegal immigrants, banning fracking and eliminating private health insurance.

However, her former Democratic colleagues insist that she has always been “centrist” and moderate.

“His record is very centrist,” Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., told DailyMail.com this week.

White House calls Donald Trump “repulsive” for saying Kamala Harris “became a black person”

Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre led the response from President Joe Biden’s administration. Jean-Pierre, a Black woman, called Trump’s comment “insulting.” She also said that as vice president, Harris deserves “respect.”

“No one has the right to tell someone who they are or how they identify,” Jean-Pierre said.

In a tense and contentious interview at the National Association of Black Journalists conference, Trump repeatedly questioned Harris’ racial background. His comments drew gasps from the audience of Black journalists and pushback from reporters on stage questioning him.

Kamala Harris responds to Trump’s shocking claim that he ‘didn’t know’ she was black, urges historic African-American sisterhood to ‘fight for our future’

Taking the stage at the 60th Biennial International Boulé of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc. in Houston, Harris addressed the interview hours earlier where Trump insisted that “all of a sudden, she did a U-turn.”

His comments came at a meeting of Black journalists in Chicago, when an interviewer asked him if he agreed with the Republican sentiment that his rival is a “DEI hire.”

When asked to “define DEI,” the reporter went on to question Harris’ heritage.

The vice president, in turn, said that “the American people deserve better,” in a speech in which he also urged the African-American brotherhood to “fight” because “there is a lot at stake.”

Trump reveals who the woman he credits with saving his life was and explains why he’s not “nicer” after assassination attempt

Donald Trump brought on stage the staffer he credits with saving his life and said he decided he didn’t need to be “nicer” to Democrats after coming close to death.

The former president returned to Pennsylvania just 17 days after the historic assassination attempt, where he referred to Vice President Kamala Harris as Margaret Thatcher as he sought to court voters in the battleground state.

Had Trump not turned his head to look at an immigration graphic on the screen during his Butler rally, the bullet likely would have entered his head rather than grazing his ear.

The Republican candidate said the woman who made the graphic is the reason he is alive and brought her on stage.

While many speculated that Trump had “changed” after the shooting, he continued the attacks and revealed even more name-calling for his new 2024 rival, Kamala Harris, at his latest rally, only his third since he was shot.

Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich and former Marine Paul Whelan are dramatically released by Russia as part of a major prisoner exchange with the United States.

Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich and former US Marine Paul Whelan have been released from prison in Russia.

The men were released as part of a major prisoner swap with Moscow, said to involve between 20 and 30 political prisoners.

Gershkovich was arrested in March 2023 on espionage charges that the United States considers illegitimate. He was sentenced to 16 years in prison in July.

Whelan has been held in Russia since 2018 on espionage charges. The United States has denied he was involved in spying operations.

Families of 9/11 victims are “deeply concerned” after the mastermind of the attacks reached a plea deal, saying they were denied “the opportunity to know the whole truth.”

Families of the Sept. 11 victims said they were “deeply concerned” after the architect of the attacks and two others accepted plea deals after decades in U.S. detention.

Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, Walid Bin Attash and Mustafa al-Hawasawi agreed to plead guilty to conspiracy charges in exchange for a life sentence.

The New York Times reported late Wednesday that the guilty pleas, which will allow the men to avoid a death penalty trial, have been approved by Pentagon officials.

“We are deeply concerned by these plea agreements. While we recognize the decision to avoid the death penalty, our primary concern remains access to these individuals for information,” said 9/11 Justice President Brett Eagleson.

‘These plea agreements must not perpetuate a system of closed-door plea deals, where crucial information is withheld without giving victims’ families the opportunity to learn the whole truth.’
