NBA teams are contacting the Jazz about Walker Kesslerto Knicks trade target, Utah is said to be seeking at least a first-round draft pick. SNY Ian Begley reported the latest developments on Monday.
“The Knicks had been in contact with Utah, they had had some interest in Walker Kesslerthe big guy, as a possible solution for, in the reserve five, Begley said“But teams in contact with Utah say the Jazz are seeking at least a first-round pick in exchange for Kessler in these talks that have taken place earlier in the offseason.”
Kessler, who turned 23 on July 26, averaged 8.1 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.4 blocks in 23.3 minutes in 64 games (22 starts) as a second-year pro during the 2023-24 season. As a rookie with the Jazz in the 2022-23 season, Kessler averaged 9.2 points, 8.4 rebounds and 2.3 blocks in 23.0 minutes in 74 games (40 starts).
Elsewhere in the Knicks’ search to replace the outgoing Isaiah Hartenstein and add a backup behind the return Mitchell Robinson, Beautiful Achiuwa Still worth keeping an eye on.
“They have contacted Beautiful Achiuwa“Begley said of the 24-year-old center, who averaged 7.6 points, 7.2 rebounds and 1.1 blocks in 24.2 minutes in 49 games (18 starts) with the Knicks last season.Achiuwa has attracted the interest of several contenders.“I think he has a couple of offers on the table. Now we’ll see what Achiuwa does in the next few days.”
