Jay Leno keeps the top of his convertible down as he navigates the streets of Los Angeles… after talking about recovering from his recent injuries

Jay Leno was spotted taking one of his vintage cars for a spin in Los Angeles on Saturday afternoon.

The 73-year-old TV personality seemed to be making the most of his time behind the wheel as he kept the best city out of his vehicle and took advantage of the beautiful spring weather during his trip.

The comedian, who recently showed his support for striking members of the Writer’s Guild of America, kept it casual in a light blue denim button-up shirt as he hit the road.

Leno recently opened up about his recovery process after suffering back-to-back motor vehicle accidents during an interview with People.

The former host of The Tonight Show suffered numerous burns after one of his cars caught fire in his Burbank garage last November.

The artist was admitted to a burns ward following the incident and he was forced to cancel several appearances during his recovery period.

However, Leno spoke to TMZ and told the outlet he remains optimistic about his future despite the ordeal.

He also said he would only need “a week or two to get back on his feet”.

The comedian then suffered various injuries after falling from a motorcycle last January.

The TV personality was left with numerous broken bones after his second accident.

Leno insisted he was on the mend during his meeting with People, during which he remained optimistic about his health.

“I have a broken collarbone and two broken ribs and a few cracked kneecaps, but I’m fine,” he said.

The performer then said he was not interested in attracting public sympathy and wanted to recover on his own terms.

“When you’re in show business, people love you. And if you start whining and complaining about it, you’re a whiny, complaining actor. It’s better if you just make jokes about it and you’re having fun,” he said.

Leno added: “The pain is constant, so if it’s constant, it’s fine. The pain of a burn, after a while you get used to it and it eventually goes away, but it’s not terrible.

The performer jokingly concluded that his wife, Mavis, was not going to try to talk him out of his motor vehicle-centric hobbies after his various accidents.

He remarked that his wife was “okay with everything”. As long as there are no other women and cocaine, I’m fine. It is better to catch fire than to be with another woman!
