Jax Taylor refiled for divorce from his ex-wife Brittany Cartwright on Thursday.
The Valley star, 45, hired the lawyer of Kevin Federline, Britney Spears’ ex-husband, in the middle of their divorce proceedings.
Cartwright, 35, first filed for divorce in August.
Now, the reality show personality has responded with her own filing requesting the dissolution of the marriage, and according to court documents obtained by Us weeklyTaylor appointed Mark Vincent Kaplan as his attorney.
This comes just after Cartwright criticized him for mistakes he made in his divorce application without the help of legal counsel.

Last month, he filed the lawsuit while representing himself and mistakenly checked a box indicating that he and Cartwright were never legally married.
The Vanderpump Rules alum also gave an inaccurate timeline of their relationship.
Unlike Cartwright, who listed their separation date as January 24, 2024, a month before sharing the news publicly, Taylor claimed they didn’t officially break up until September 26, 2024.
She also appeared to have mistakenly checked a box “indicating ‘other’ when it came to determining support for her son Cruz.”
After fans expressed confusion over errors and discrepancies made by Taylor, Cartwright took to social media to address the errors.
“We are legally married,” he wrote in a comment on one of E! News posts on Instagram. “I guess the paperwork is difficult for some people.”
Lance Bass, who officiated the former couple’s 2019 nuptials, also stepped in to confirm that Cartwright and Taylor’s marriage was legally binding.
“Pastor Lance signed the papers,” he wrote.

Taylor’s representative clarified to People that the “mistakes (made by his client) will be corrected without delay.”
“Jax and Brittany long ago resolved all issues related to Cruz’s custody and will continue to work together privately in the best interest of their son, which remains their primary concern,” his representative added.
“While Jax made errors in completing forms that are normally completed by trained legal professionals, those errors will be corrected without delay.”
Taylor’s new lawyer who represented him in his divorce proceedings previously represented stars like Charlie Sheen and Paula Abdul, in addition to Federline, during his custody battle with Spears.
Federline was granted full custody of his and Spears’ two children, Preston, now 19, and Jayden, now 18, in 2008.
It seems that Cartwright and Taylor are expected to have a less contentious custody arrangement, as they have both expressed their intention to co-parent.
Last month, Cartwright said he wants the best for his son and that includes having his father in his life.
“I’m never going to keep Cruz away from (Jax),” he told People. “We will always put Cruz first and work toward a healthy co-parenting relationship.”

During an episode of their joint podcast, When Reality Hits, he said he wants to continue being an “amazing” father to his son.
Taylor also said she will “always love and care” for her ex.
“She is the mother of my beautiful son,” he said. ‘All I want for us is for us to be friendly and even, hopefully, very, very good friends. One day.
He added: “I know I’m an amazing father and I know I’ll be a great ex-husband.”
