Javier Bardem showed off his impressive shirtless physique as he posed for a stunning shoot photographed by his wife Penelope Cruz.
The actor, 55, posed for the images of The Knight’s Diaryand in an accompanying interview, he reflected on how he and his wife met, before beginning their romance when they reunited 17 years later.
Javier and Penélope began dating after meeting again on the set of Vicky Cristina Barcelona in 2008, and they married two years later.
Detailing their first meeting, he said: ‘She was 17 and I was 22. It was her first film; one of my first films. A great movie.
‘We met at the costume fitting, we looked at each other and I guess something happened. Something that has no explanation and goes beyond logic and reasoning.’

The actor, 55, posed for The Gentleman’s Journal pictures and, in an accompanying interview, reflected on how he and his wife met.
Javier and Penélope began dating after meeting again on the set of Vicky Cristina Barcelona in 2008, and they married two years later.
She detailed that while there was no romance between them at the time, they reconnected 17 years later in Vicky Cristina Barcelona, which earned Penelope an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress.
‘We realized that the feeling was still alive. Lively. To our surprise!’ Javier added.
“But it happened that we were both single at the time, so naturally what had to happen happened: two people reconnected because they shared tons of things, a lot more than they expected.
‘But we also shared that we met and knew each other before all the noise, before the success and before anyone saw us in a different light for who we were now, what we had become.
‘And that is an important foundation: trusting someone because you really know them and they really know you. You see me, I see you. That’s important.’
Javier and Penelope share two children, Leo, 13, and Luna, 11, and he also told the publication that he has learned to accept his ‘flaws’ when it comes to parenthood.
He said, ‘I have flaws. I have tons of flaws and things that need to be fixed in terms of me as a human being. But being able to educate someone is the most important responsibility you will ever have.
‘You are helping to guide, to mold someone, and how can you do that if you don’t educate yourself? If you don’t really evaluate who you are as a human being? Who are you? And what have you achieved? What are our defects? What are our virtues?

Bardem quickly expressed his gratitude for his two children as Cruz smiled at him as he playfully blew kisses towards his seat.
