Former sports pundit turned conservative talk show host Jason Whitlock made a surprising and scathing comment about the abilities of LSU basketball star Angel Reese.
Reese played her final game in an LSU uniform as the Tigers fell to Caitlin Clark and Iowa in the Elite Eight last night.
Whitlock took it upon himself to declare the rivalry dead and at the same time decided to belittle Reese.
“We can officially stop putting Angel Reese on Caitlin Clark’s level,” Whitlock posted on Twitter.
‘For. One is an all-time great player. The other became famous for mocking. The rivalry is dead.’
Jason Whitlock decided to criticize Angel Reese after she fell to Caitlin Clark and Iowa
Whitlock said Reese only became famous for making fun of Clark and declared their rivalry dead.
It was a strange change of direction after he praised her earlier in the night.
Clark and Iowa are headed to the Final Four, while Reese and LSU finished their season.
Calling Reese “famous for mocking” is an interesting change, of course, considering that just over an hour before Whitlock sent that tweet, he was praising Reese.
‘Great game. Angel Reese has stepped up,” Whitlock tweeted at 8:18 pm last night.
It should also be noted that Reese won the SEC Player of the Year award for the 2023-24 season.
That’s due in part to the 18.6 points and 13.4 rebounds per game he scored. His scoring mark was third best in the SEC and his rebounding mark led the conference and was second in the entire country.
