Endrick made history by scoring in Brazil’s victory over England at Wembley on Saturday.

Dorival Junior named a rotated squad for the friendly which included seven debutants with the 17-year-old striker on the substitutes’ bench.

Brazil had several opportunities to take advantage, but couldn’t at first, with the game scoreless at halftime.

With the match still tied as the second half progressed, Endrick replaced Rodrygo in the visitors’ forward line, making his third senior international appearance in the process.

Shortly after being introduced, Real Madrid’s wonderkid found himself on the scoreboard, grabbing a rebound after Jordan Pickford saved Vinicius Jr.’s initial effort.

In doing so, at 17 years and 246 days, Endrick became the youngest player to score at Wembley and the fourth youngest in Brazil’s history, behind such esteemed names as Pelé and Ronaldo.

England ultimately failed to find an equalizer, ending Gareth Southgate’s team’s impressive home run at the national stadium.

Before the clash with Brazil, the last time England lost a match at Wembley was against Denmark in October 2020, when the scorer of Saturday’s goal was just 14 years old.

Despite the defeat, Southgate insisted England had been unlucky: “There were a lot of very good performances in a high-level match,” he said. ‘We controlled many parts of it and had the most attempts on goal. In the end it is that ruthless moment that decides the game.”
