Jason Kelce spoke out about a heated altercation between him and his brother, Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs.

Jason and Travis have become two of the most famous brothers to ever appear in the NFL, showcasing their close bond on and off the field thanks to their popular podcast New Heights.

However, Philadelphia Eagles legend Jason recently revealed that the duo had their fair share of sibling rivalry growing up, like any group of siblings.

Before they found success in the NFL, the Kelces seemingly cultivated their competitive spirit at home, which sometimes caused tensions to boil over.

On an episode of Shaquille O’Neal’s ‘The Big Podcast,’ Jason, who announced his retirement from the NFL earlier this year, recounted a rare occasion when he and his brother came to blows.

The former center said he once let his frustrations get the better of him and intentionally fouled his younger brother, who was scoring too many baskets for his liking during a backyard basketball game, something Travis was not happy about.

“We were in the backyard and he started driving and making these stupid shots,” Jason said.

“He always does it and I can’t do anything to stop him. So I resort to fouling him, the only way I know how to stop him.

“And he says: ‘That’s bullshit, it’s a foul’. I answer: ‘I don’t see any referee here, I don’t see anyone blowing a foul’.”

“He takes the ball, throws it to me, goes into the house. I go in there, grab him by the shoulder and punch him.”

Jason insisted it was only the second time he had hit Travis and then revealed his brother’s furious reaction.

“Listen, we always fought,” Jason said. “This was the second time I punched him. I don’t know how it got to that point. I punched him in the face. Every time before, he was crying or whatever.

“He punched me, lifted me off the ground and slammed me onto the kitchen floor so hard that the oven came off the rails. I stood up and we got into a fistfight.”

Fortunately, the brothers have matured and moved past their violent altercation, proving their love for each other on multiple occasions.

As Jason gave his retirement speech in March after a glittering 13-year career with the Eagles, Travis was seen wiping away tears as he sat in the front row with his parents, Ed and Donna.

During the speech, Jason mentioned that when they were kids he would play football with Travis in the backyard. He also recalled the excitement he felt when he was drafted into the NFL and when Travis was selected two years later.

Jason even played a pivotal role in Travis’ draft, helping convince Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid to take a chance on Kelce’s (slightly wilder) younger brother.

The coach was convinced of his ability on the field, but Travis’ season-long suspension from the University of Cincinnati team for multiple positive marijuana tests was a sticking point.

But Jason, who was also drafted by Reid to the Philadelphia Eagles, was instrumental in convincing the veteran coach to give his brother a chance.

However, despite all the love, the brothers still can’t resist attacking each other, even if it’s in a war of words rather than a fistfight.

Most recently, Jason issued a hilarious response to Patrick Mahomes’ fake pass to Travis in a preseason game against the Detroit Lions over the weekend.

The Chiefs quarterback was bold enough to attempt a behind-the-back pass on the second drive of a 24-23 home loss Saturday, surprising the Lions defense as Kelce successfully made the connection on third-and-3 at the Detroit 33-yard line.

The pass was good for 9 yards and a first down, and eventually helped set up a field goal.

After seeing footage of the play, Jason took to social media to exclaim: “This motherfucker actually did it! Magic Mahomes.”

He later added in response to footage of Mahomes’ postgame interview: “If Pat starts throwing behind-the-back passes every time Travis runs the wrong route, this could be the most exciting year of football yet.”
