Jason Kelce was moved to tears by his first Taylor Swift concert over the weekend.
The retired NFL player and his wife, Kylie Kelce, joined his younger brother Travis on the London stop of his girlfriend’s record-breaking Eras Tour.
The former Eagles centre said he finally “came to the Eras Tour and saw Tay absolutely destroy him” at Wembley Stadium, on Wednesday’s episode of the New Heights podcast.
“Dude, that was amazing,” Jason said as he kicked off the segment, which was recorded Saturday after he and Kylie attended their first show.
“It was great,” Travis chimed in. “Playing in front of 90,000 people at Wembley Stadium.”
Jason Kelce revealed he was moved to tears by his first Taylor Swift concert over the weekend.
He was accompanied by his wife, Kylie Kelce, and his brother Travis, who has been dating Swift since 2023.
Jason emphasized, “It was incredibly impressive.” Obviously Taylor is an incredible singer-songwriter, but then to be able to go up there and be a performer at that level for three and a half hours.”
Travis informed his brother that the Love Story hitmaker performs 45 “crazy” songs throughout the set.
“If I did what she did in a song, I’d have to change my clothes,” Jason joked.
“I’m in the store thinking, ‘God, I need a break,'” Travis added, as his older brother echoed the sentiment: “Man, I’m tired of drinking these beers and Taylor is still singing, it’s amazing.”
The Eagles legend continued: “I can’t feel my hand anymore because all these friendship bracelets are cutting off my circulation.”
The Chiefs star even joined his girlfriend on stage at their third show in London last week.
Elsewhere in the episode, Jason revealed what moment in the show made him cry.
‘Hat 22? Dude, I’ve never cried at a damn concert and I was literally crying watching this whole girl… I’m about to cry right now. It was so fucking special,” she said, referencing the moment during each concert in which Swift hands a fedora to an audience member while she performs her hit song, 22.
—She got into this, man. It was amazing,” Travis added. ‘Every show she does it. And she makes every show unique with the acoustic set.’
Jason told listeners that the acoustic segment of the show, during which she plays two surprise songs from her extensive catalog, was her “favorite” part.
“She’s mixing one song with another… To be good in front of 9,000 people with just that, I think you have to be amazing.” And you have to have great songs and great lyrics, which she obviously wrote and created. And then two, being able to do them seamlessly on the spot, just to hide it, that was just the highlight of the night for me,” said the father of three.
“It feels like you’re in a bar listening to someone play the piano,” he added.
The day after recording his podcast, Travis gave fans the biggest surprise by joining his girlfriend on stage during his third show at Wembley.
He donned a top hat and tails while performing with two of his backup dancers during an interlude between songs.
“To be able to get there and be a performer at that level,” Jason said of Swift’s 45-song set.
