Jason Cundy insists he would ‘100 per cent’ take Mason Mount over Brazil star Neymar in his team
Jason Cundy claims he would “100 per cent” take Mason Mount over Neymar as the former Chelsea man says the Brazil forward is “not a team player” and “won’t do the dirty work” as the midfielder for England.
Jason Cundy insists that he would rather have Mason Mount in his team than Neymar, as the Brazilian won’t do the “dirty work”.
Neymar starred in Brazil’s 2-0 victory over Serbia on Thursday, but his participation in the rest of the tournament is unclear after injuring an ankle.
Adding insult to injury, Cundy shot the Paris Saint-Germain star, labeling him “not a team player.”
Neymar lined up for Brazil in their 2-0 World Cup win over Serbia on Thursday night.
Cundy hit out at Neymar insisting he would rather have Chelsea’s Mason Mount in his team
“Neymar doesn’t come close to a team that I want to support because it’s him, he’s not a team player,” Cundy told talkSPORT.
When asked if he’d rather have Mount on his team than the Brazilian star, Cundy replied: ‘Yes! 100%, I’ll tell you why?’
Neymar won’t do what Mount does. Neymar will not do the dirty work. He won’t do that. If you’re a team player, you can’t get into the team.
Jason Cundy says England’s Mount offers more to a team than individualist Neymar
Neymar limped off crying in the second half against Serbia with a severe ankle sprain.
‘Can you imagine if Neymar was English at that [Gareth] Southgate squad? Can you imagine the interruption, what it would do, the effect it would have? He’s not part of the gang.
The TalkSPORT presenter then hinted that his move from Barcelona to PSG in 2017 was prompted by a need to escape Lionel Messi’s shadow.
He continued: ‘Look what he did, he left Barca because he couldn’t compete with Messi. He appeared at PSG, Mbappé appeared and he is not even the best player at PSG.
“It’s about him, it’s more than just him player.”
