Nova 100’s Jase & Lauren have launched a hide-and-seek contest with a “life-changing” $250,000 cash prize.
The breakfast radio giveaway, which beats rivals Kyle & Jackie O Show’s $200,000 Guess the Sound contest, involves listeners meeting radio stars Jase and Lauren somewhere in Melbourne.
Jason ‘Jase’ Hawkins and Lauren Phillips were booted from the ARN-owned KIIS FM network in November to make way for Kyle and Jackie’s Sydney breakfast show and have since moved to Nova.
But the rivals seem to go head to head with a big gift for listeners.
In a statement issued by Nova, Jase & Lauren’s Hide & Seek laid out its “simple” rules: “The couple will be somewhere in their favorite city, waiting for a Melburnian to find them and knock on their door.”

“We know Melbourne loves playing hide and seek and with the chance to take home a life-changing amount of money, it will be the biggest game ever!” host Lauren said.
‘The rules may be simple, but the amount of money at stake is huge! It’s the only way to convince Lauren to be locked up with me indefinitely. She was just looking for a break from the kids,” Lauren’s co-host Jase added.
It marks a big jump in typical Nova betting, with the station’s next-largest prize being $10,000 from its $10K contest in May.
Nova Network group programming director Brendan Taylor said this latest promotion was going to be huge.

‘Jase and Lauren have made an impressive impact on the Melbourne radio market since joining Nova 100 earlier this year. They started their year on the streets shaking hands with their loyal listeners, and now they’re asking their loyal listeners to come to them… if they can find them!’ he said.
It comes as Kyle Sandilands issued a brutal response when asked if he felt bad that several of his competitor’s shows were axed to make way for his top-rated show.
Radio king KIIS FM’s highest ratings hit, The Kyle and Jackie O Show, recently premiered in Melbourne, and Jason ‘Jase’ Hawkins and Lauren Phillips’ breakfast show came under fire as a result.
The unapologetic Kyle, 52, recently said he felt indifferent to his competitors being eliminated as it ultimately came down to who attracted the most listeners.
‘No, I do not care. That’s why we chose Melbourne and thought, “We’ve given Jase and Lauren a good chance at KIIS FM, it can’t get above fourth place in the radio ratings so we’ll take it,” he said. news.com.au.

He added that The Kyle and Jackie O Show moved to Melbourne because there was a “troubled market” and it was thought his show could help win back listeners.
However, Kyle’s co-host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson, 49, took a different approach, adding that while she didn’t like her competitors being eliminated, it was unfortunately the reality of the business.
“No one ever wants to fire someone from their job. I wouldn’t want that to happen to me. It’s a double-edged sword, it really is,” she stated.
On April 29, Kyle and Jackie O brought their breakfast radio to Melbourne in a massive multi-million dollar expansion deal.
