Jared Kushner is stepping out of politics and trying to build a “simpler” relationship with father-in-law Donald Trump, a report Saturday revealed.
Trump’s former senior adviser told a small circle of advisers around the former president: according to The New York Times, that he wants to focus on writing his book.
Those people told the Times that Kushner wants to end his professional relationship with Trump and instead just be his son-in-law.
Kushner, who is Jewish, oversaw Trump’s 2020 campaign and served as a senior adviser while Trump was president, focusing primarily on peace talks in the Middle East and aiding Israeli relations in the region.
However, Kushner, who is married to Trump’s eldest daughter Ivanka, has largely retired from his father-in-law’s political career.

Trump first spoke publicly after leaving the Conservative Political Action Conference in Orlando, Florida, in late February.
He spoke for the second time in Greenville, North Carolina on Saturday at a GOP conference where he stopped announcing a 2024 presidential bid.
The former president has said he will wait until after the 2022 midterms to make an official announcement on next steps.
Kushner was one of his most talked-about and trusted advisers to Trump in his four years as president.
During a roundtable on police reform, Trump called Kushner “my star.”
Since Trump left the White House in early January, Kushner and Ivanka have been rather inconspicuous.

The couple moved to Florida, just as Trump did, after they left Washington, DC, where they rented a house in the upscale Kalorama neighborhood for $15,000 a month.
That house in Northwest came on the market after they left for $18,000 a month.
The two are now renting an apartment in Miami Beach after purchasing a $32 million plot of land on Indian Creek, a private island in Miami-Dade County.
Jared is working on a book, it’s unclear what’s left for the couple for the future, other than a new home in Miami.
