Jane Fonda, 86, has teamed up with Canada Goose creative director Haider Ackermann, 53, for a new campaign aimed at helping protect the planet, which begins with the duo promoting their first design of colorful sweatshirts with hood.

After Haider Ackermann took over as creative director of Canada Goose, Jane Fonda now announces her new partnership with Ackermann and the outerwear brand.

“Today I am proud to announce my partnership with Haider Ackermann and Canada Goose,” Fonda, 86, began in an Instagram post. “As Haider takes on the role of his first creative director, we embark on a purpose-driven project aimed at inspiring action to protect our planet in collaboration with Polar Bears International.”

And he added: ‘I have put all my strength into inspiring planet-friendly decisions to address the climate crisis. “What is happening in the Arctic is powerful, important and essential.”

Ackermann joins amid the company’s recent commitment to sustainable practices and the use of eco-friendly fabrics, according to she.

As part of celebrating the new partnerships, Ackermann produced his first design for the company: a limited-edition PBI hoodie made from organic cotton in four bold colors including boreal green, arctic blue, crystal white and onyx black.

Fonda shared a series of snaps on her Instagram page showing her and Ackermann modeling the different colorways, including the cover photo of the screen legend with her arms around the fashion designer as they both don the hoodies crystal white.

The Barbarella star also dons that same color hoodie, but this time she opted not to pull the hood over her long, flowing gray locks.

She also performed solo while wearing a boreal green sweatshirt, which she modeled in an over-the-shoulder pose that shows her with her shoulder-length gray locks wearing waves and curls.

There is also a second image of the two stars together where the Colombian-born French designer wears a blue one while hugging the iconic activist who is dressed in the green hoodie again.

Considering its charitable side, 100 percent of profits from sales of the sweatshirts will benefit Polar Bear International, which has been at the forefront of efforts to study and protect wild polar bears and their declining habitat.

PBI has also been a long-time partner of Canada Goose, founded in 1957 by Sam Tick, during its project to inspire action to protect Planet Earth.

Fonda’s addition as the company’s campaign leader seems like a natural fit, considering her track record as a fierce environmental activist when it comes to fighting climate change and Canada Goose’s commitment to sustainable practices and the use of eco-friendly fabrics.

In fact, the winter clothing manufacturer has set one of its biggest goals: achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2025.
