Jamie Oliver returned to the kitchen earlier this month with his new show focusing on autumn produce.
But it was the chef’s pear tarte tatin tutorial on last week’s episode of Jamie: What To Eat This Week that raised eyebrows when he made a rather rude comment.
The TV chef prepared the dessert, which looked delicious, before tasting it and said: “Look at this, it’s absolutely beautiful. A very, very elegant dessert.”
“For me, I always take it from the back because it has that delicious, crunchy edge. So I’m going to get in there and that’s the best part.”
The comment left viewers “choking in water” as they called it “the worst line they’ve ever heard.”

The Body Coach star, 38, and his wife Rosie, 33, joined the chef’s family for a delicious meal and a weekend away.
Joe shares newborn Dusty, two months, with Rosie and three other children: daughters Indie, six, Leni, two, and son Marley, five.
While Jamie, 49, has five children – Poppy Honey, 22, Daisy Boo, 21, Petal Blossom, 15, Buddy Bear, 13, and River Rocket, eight – with wife Jools, also 49.
Joe shared snaps of them all together before hugging Dusty in others and sharing snaps of the amazing-looking food.
She wrote in the caption: ‘A dreamy Saturday afternoon at @jamieoliver’s house .

In June, Joe announced that Rosie had given birth to their fourth child.
In the caption of the joint post, Joe wrote: ‘Today at 9:30am we welcomed our 4th baby into the world. A boy who weighs 3.4kg.
“Rosie gave birth at home. The NHS midwives at St Peter’s Hospital were amazing. Rosie and baby are doing well and getting some rest.”
