Komoroski was sentenced to 25 years for drunken driving causing Samantha’s death, as well as 15 years for drunken driving causing Hutchinson’s injuries and 10 years for reckless homicide.

The sentences will run concurrently, meaning Komoroski will spend 25 years in prison – the maximum amount of time she received for the charge.

After Samantha’s relatives spoke, Komoroski stood in court and admitted responsibility, giving her own emotional statement.

“On the night of April 22, 2023, I chose to drive under the influence, which resulted in the death of Samantha Miller,” Komoroski said. “This is the worst decision I have ever made in my life.”

Komoroski expressed her regret for the pain she caused Miller’s family.

“Because of my bad decisions, a beautiful wife, sister and daughter were kidnapped,” she said. “All I can say is how incredibly remorseful I am.”

“I want them to know how sorry I am, from the bottom of my heart, and that I take full responsibility for my actions. I will always be devastated, deeply ashamed and terribly sorry for what I did.”

Komoroski cried in court as she admitted to committing reckless homicide on Monday in Charleston, South Carolina, for the April 2023 killing of Samantha Miller.

She told the court she would never forgive herself for the horrific tragedy.

Komoroski was three times over the legal limit when she crashed into newlyweds Aric and Samantha Hutchinson, killing the bride

She also pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence and two counts of driving under the influence causing further bodily harm or death.

Komoroski wore a black suit and appeared to have gained weight ahead of Monday’s court appearance, which was scheduled as a trial after she previously denied the allegations.

Jurors were to be chosen from a pool, but the killer’s lawyers instead indicated they wanted to enter a guilty plea.

She looked somber as she entered the courtroom to admit crimes that could see her jailed for 25 years.

Komoroski did not take a plea deal, meaning a judge does not have to show her leniency because she spared Miller’s family a trial.
