Two months of filming the long-awaited movie Strangest Friday and leading lady Jamie Lee Curtis demonstrated her willingness to achieve the perfect take of a scene while performing her own stunts.
In one of the final scenes of the production, the 65-year-old actress could be seen jumping on the hood of a car countless times while wearing a tight hot pink dress and gray knee-high boots.
And every time director Nisha Ganatra yelled “cut,” Curtis would quickly head to her on-set glam team to touch up her hair, makeup and anything else necessary to get her ready to do it all over again.
A second image shows the protagonist standing to the side of the set, fixing her long gray hair and preparing it for another adventure.
Not long after they finally got what they needed from this particular scene, their co-star, Lindsay Lohan, took to her Instagram page to announce, “FREAKIER FRIDAY is over.”
Jamie Lee Curtis, 65, was seen jumping on the hood of a car over and over again as she and director Nisha Ganatra tried to get the perfect shot for what was one of the final scenes.
After each take of the car hood scene, Curtis could be seen off to the side touching up her on-screen ensemble, which consisted of a hot pink dress, grey knee-high boots, and her grey locks pulled back into ponytails.
The actress, who reprises her role as Anna, went on to praise everyone who helped make the shoot the best experience possible.
“Thank you to the incredible cast, crew, producers and everyone at @disneystudios who put so much love and effort into making this movie!” she shared. “I can’t wait to share it with you all!”
Lohan, 38, announced the news of the end of filming on the fantasy comedy with a photo showing her riding a bike with a big beaming smile on her face.
She seems to be very happy, considering the big beaming smile on her face as she wears denim shorts with a black blazer over an orange, red and yellow t-shirt, green sneakers and a helmet over her long locks of reddish hair.
Not to be outdone, Curtis also took to his Instagram page to help push the promotion of the film which is now heading to the editing room for all the tweaks and improvements before it hits theaters next year.
“We’ve tried very hard to keep our story secret and private until it’s time to publish it, but every now and then an image comes along that tells nothing about the story or what’s going on with the characters, but it does show the joy and fun we had making #FREAKIERFRIDAY,” she began, while referencing a new photo taken of her and Lohan on the final day of filming.
The two actresses can be seen sharing a sweet hug as they frolic on the beach and in the ocean water.
Lindsay Lohan, 38, took to her Instagram page on Thursday, August 22, and announced, “That’s it for FREAKIER FRIDAY” after two months of filming.
Lohan, who reprises her role as Anna, mostly shared the “love that went into the making of this film” in her Instagram post.
Curtis, 65, shared one of the photos of her and Lohan filming one of the final scenes of Freakier Friday on the beach in Malibu.
The legendary Scream Queen spoke about the “joy and fun” they experienced making the sequel to Freaky Friday after a gap of more than two decades between the two films.
The former child star showed off her feminine curves in a green print playsuit and her long red locks pulled back off her face and into a loose ponytail, while her co-star wore a classic black wetsuit for their time playing in the ocean.
“And we know that’s going to be the experience you’re going to have in theaters next year,” the original Scream Queen said. “Yes, you heard me… Movie Theaters. The place where we all go and enjoy a shared experience in the dark while eating popcorn and candy and laughing together and sometimes crying together. Until then… @lindsaylohan @disneystudios.”
His willingness to do almost all of his own stunts dates back decades, to when he filmed the action comedy True Lies (1994) alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger with James Cameron in the director’s chair, according to Ranting on the screen.
The actress was willing to perform dangerous stunts, such as the famous helicopter and limo stunts, but only took minor precautions to ensure she could escape if something went wrong.
The two stars have been virtually united since production began two months ago.
The two actresses have been promoting Freakier Friday since before filming began in late June.
It turns out Curtis only asked for a knife and wire cutters for his safety during those potentially suspicious stunts on True Lies.
She also performed most of her own stunts for her Oscar-winning performance in the comedy-drama film Everything Everywhere All At Once (2022), showing her bravery in the face of potential danger on screen.
Lohan and Curtis marked the start of filming on the Freaky Friday sequel on June 24 with a photo of them sitting in front of each other’s trailers on set, along with video clips of them striking different poses, all while smiling and laughing.
“The Colemans are back and coming to theaters in 2025! Freaky Friday sequel is now in production!” they shared in the caption.

It’s been 21 years since fans last saw Curtis return to the role of Tess Coleman and Lohan as Tess’s oldest daughter, Anna Coleman.
The new story also incorporates characters created by Heather Hach and Leslie Dixon, the duo who wrote the script for the 2003 reboot.
Many of the stars of the new original film also return to reprise their roles, including Mark Harmon, Chad Michael Murray, Christina Vidal, Haley Hudson, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky and Rosalind Chao.
Other cast members include Sophia Hammons, Julia Butters, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan and Manny Jacinto, who was finally spotted on set for the first time doing one of the final takes with Curtis and Sophia Hammons on Wednesday night in Los Angeles.

The original 2003 reboot film became a hit at the global box office, grossing $160.8 million while working on a $26 million budget.
The three actors were seen sharing hugs with each other as they wrapped up the filming of the movie. The Halloween star could also be seen hugging several other crew members, including director Nisha Ganatra.
“Manny plays Lindsay’s husband, but that’s all we can say,” Curtis revealed to LITTLE EIGHTbefore Lohan added: “Manny is so charming, so funny.”

So far, Disney has only revealed that Freakier Friday is scheduled to be released in 2025.
