Jamie Foxx has revealed that she thought it was a joke when doctors told her she had been out for 20 days after suffering a stroke that caused bleeding on her brain.

In Friday’s upcoming episode of Graham Norton, the actor, 57, opens up about his terrifying health scare that left him in a coma following surgery in April 2023.

Jamie said he “didn’t remember anything” from the moment he was rushed to A&E until he finally regained consciousness 20 days later.

“I felt really bad but now I’m back feeling good. It makes you realize that you need people who care for you and love you to help you get through it.

“I didn’t remember anything happening, so when I came to, 20 days later, I thought they were playing a prank on me. It was beyond crazy.”

Jamie has now returned to Hollywood alongside co-star Cameron Diaz for their new film, Back In Action.

He had been filming when he started experiencing a “bad headache” in Atlanta and was initially given a cortisone shot, but his sister Deidra Dixon “knew something was wrong.”

Deidra took him to Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, where he underwent a life-saving procedure.

The family kept their health battle private at the time, and Jamie only revealed last month what really happened.

He previously revealed how he vividly remembers waking up from a coma on May 4 and not being able to walk.

He recalled: ‘When I woke up, I found myself in a wheelchair. I couldn’t walk.’

However, Jamie didn’t want to believe he had suffered a stroke and said his therapist spoke to him about his ego: “You need to kill the old Jamie so the new Jamie can thrive.”

He also reflected, ‘God blessed me with money and fame, but when I forgot God, He blessed me with a stroke.’

Of his return to the public eye, Jamie told Graham: “I knew I had to come back and I realized the way to do it was to be funny. I told so many jokes that people thought I was crazy, and then I acted like someone else.” ; for three whole days I was Denzel Washington.’

And Jamie raised eyebrows when he jokingly declared he had stopped dating white women in a song on the Netflix special, released last month.

He sang that he has been “cured” and is “back on the black side of town.”

Sitting at the piano, the Hollywood star sang: “Sisters, I’m here to tell you that I’m cured.”

‘I’ve been cured of everything, no more white girls. I’m serious, no more white girls. No more white girls. No more. No more white girls.

As audience members cheered and jumped out of their seats, Jamie continued: ‘I’m back on the black side of town!

‘No more white girls. No more potato and raisin salad. No more white girls. No more spray tan, no more big tits, no asses, no more white girls.

Jamie has had several high-profile relationships over the years with both white and black women.

He enjoyed a six-year romance with Katie Holmes from 2013 to 2019.

While many viewers were hysterical at Jamie’s admission, they couldn’t help but question his sincerity.

One of them, addressing X, wrote: ‘Interesting. ¿????????????????????? ¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿???

Another said: “Jamie is so funny because he lies like hell LMFAOOOOO.”

A third added: “I don’t believe him.” But I’m going to mind my business.

In the comedic spy thriller, Jamie and Cameron play former CIA agents who are now married with children.

However, they return to the spy business, but things get complicated because their children have no idea what they do.

She said: ‘I’m back thanks to Jamie. I was 10 years old without paying attention to anything; I didn’t accept any advances, and then I got this script and I thought maybe it was time. If I was going to leave my family 10 hours a day I wanted to do it with the most talented man in the entertainment business.

‘It is a privilege to make films and we are all very lucky to do what we do. That the door was open to me after a decade was surprising.

“I loved those 10 years for myself and my family, but I thought, ‘If I let this go away, if I don’t get involved again, and if I don’t give it a chance, I’m a fool.’

“It may be the beginning of something, but it’s here and I’m grateful for it.”
