- Jamie Elliott scores incredible Anzac Day mark

Jamie Elliott has put his name in the mark of the year award with a spectacular effort for Collingwood against Essendon on Anzac Day.
Midway through the third quarter, Elliott leaped onto Ben McKay’s shoulders to claim the ball at full length in one of the greatest marks in the history of the prestigious game.
He timed his jump perfectly, using the 202cm Bombers star as leverage to get up and throw the ball.
His effort became even more impressive when he calmly scored his goal from a free kick.
‘How’s that for a spectacular Anzac Day?’ That’s the best there is. On the burly body of Ben McKay. Wow!’ said James Brayshaw.
“We’ve seen some big brands in this area, none bigger than that.”
‘What a great highlight for everyone who watched that was. It was just a great footballing moment,” said Brian Taylor, comparing Elliott’s mark to former Essendon star Gary Moorcroft’s famous effort.
‘Andrew Walker a similar one on the opposite side of 50. That was the best there is. Full climbing and full stretching on a guy who is also 2m tall,” added Dale Thomas.
“When Ben McKay came into the game thinking about Anzac moments, I don’t think he expected to end up on a poster.”
Meanwhile, Essendon legend Jobe Watson said: “He needed his passport because he’s going international.”
