Jamie Carragher expects Liverpool and Arsenal target Yves Bissouma to leave Brighton for ‘top dollar’ this summer after insisting he ‘looked head and shoulders above everyone else’ in the goalless draw with Everton.

The 24-year-old has been strongly linked to a departure from Brighton this summer, with Liverpool, Arsenal and Leicester all interested in signing him.

Bissouma has been one of Brighton’s most notable performers this season and once again challenged his admirers on Monday night with a stunning performance against the Champions League chasing Everton at Amex Stadium.

Jamie Carragher said Yves Bissouma was ‘best player on the field’ by a mile in Everton tie

Sky Sports pundit Carragher is hugely impressed by the midfielder’s performance and believes Brighton will receive a hefty fee for him this summer.

After Brighton’s 0-0 draw against Everton, Carragher told Sky Sports: “ The biggest talking point or bright spark of the game was the performance of Bissouma, who was the man of the match, but not just the best player on the field, the best player with a mile on the field, he really was.

‘You looked at him and he really looks like a top player. He was excellent at Old Trafford [against Manchester United] for Brighton and he just looked head and shoulders above everyone else on the field [versus Everton]

‘He’s been someone many teams have talked about or looked at. I don’t think teams will look at him, I think they will bid for him at the end of the season.

His contract still has a few years to go. I know Brighton fans will look and say, “Why are you trying to sell one of our players?”

“He still has a few years to go [on his contract]You’re at that stage where you either sign a new contract, or Brighton get him top dollar, and I think you’d get him top dollar, that’s the model. ‘

The Malian international has been a regular for Graham Potter’s side, having played 28 times this season, scoring once in the Premier League.

Monday’s stalemate with Everton put Brighton another step towards the safety of the Premier League, with Potter’s men now seven points ahead of the bottom three in 15th place.
